About The Nest

It has been hundreds of years since the machines ironically wiped out mankind.

After seemingly endless competition, the two dominant operating systems formed "The Agreement" to share the colonized planets equally. Unfortunately, the once plentiful "crypto" mines have begun to dry up, and so fighting over this critical resource has resumed.

Multiplayer VR action comes to The Nest with the "Ctrl Alt Delete" update. Teams of up to three players will fight over Ctrl points, or six players can farm each other in the free-for-all "Delete" game mode.

Pick your OS!

Join the enigmatic Angroid or the treacherous DieOS and battle for dominance.

Multiple classes!

Choose to play as the powerful "Sniper" class, moving from nest to nest with a grappling hook, teleport grenades, and a variable zoom scope.

OR

Play the advanced "Slinger" class, a dual-wielding pistoleer that can move effortlessly in 3 dimensions thanks to their patented Slinger grapple-pistols.

Multiple game modes!

The Ctrl Alt Delete update introduces the first two game modes, "Ctrl" - where teams up 3 fight over control points, and "Delete" - a Free-For-All death match.
Stay tuned for the "Alt" game mode, an alternating offense defense map.

The single-player experience will return with more content, but all efforts are focused on multiplayer balance and polish. Stay tuned!

The Nest is an Early Access free to play VR shooter game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. This game was single player only at one time and the players like it then, but the devs changed it to a Multiplayer PVP only format and the old players hated the change. Has 4 steam achievement, unknown if you can complete them. Has walking movement, teleport / grapple on sniper and grapple on slinger. Needs players that like PVP shooter games. Try it, if you like PVP shooter games.

"The Nest" is an abandoned Early Access PvP arena shooter for VR, which is why it failed. When developers decide that PvP is the same thing as content, then they need to have a huge player base to "go viral", and less than 2% of Steam gamers ever bothered with VR. This game was dead before the first line of code got written. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging real cash money for this. Price barriers…

Game is fun if you can find 4 or more players to play with. The locomotion and sniper gameplay is legit, not a fan of slinger. Compare this game to Smashbox Arena which has tons of good reviews, the pvp map in this game is too large for just 2-3 players and there's no bots to fill up the blanket. I can see the love and effort that dev put into this game but they may went to the wrong direction. Multiplayer VR game needs good bots to stay alive, just look at Space Junkies, a well polished vr shooter game developed by Ubisoft, without bots it's already dead when it get released. And it's not a good idea to introduce new class to a game if it doesn't have stable player base. Lack of players will make balancing impossible and it's very important for a pvp game. I didn't play the single player(cooperative) mode too much because it's really not that good, compared to the quest game in Rec Room, which is also free.
