I am a wuss in general, so I wasn't sure whether to play this, but I'd say there are really only 2-3 things that made me genuinely jumpy -- it's more of a general sense of unease and weirdness, really. Which is not to say that the creepy atmosphere is lacking, because it isn't, especially when you're past a few anomalies and you have the added tension of trying not to mess up. The whole thing is short and sweet, and I found the anomalies relatively clear once I realised what they were; there were two which I found more difficult to spot, but there are only 17 in total, so even if you're not great at it, you can learn quite quickly what they all are. I liked that there was a bit of backstory parcelled out as you successfully navigated rooms, as well; the story isn't long or terribly surprising, but it adds well to the atmosphere. The ending is... well. I think it's hard to end something like this in a satisfying way either way, but I liked that it essentially faded out, and you don't actually ever see anything outside the gondola. It leaves a lot to the imagination, and I thought that was great.3 found this helpful
Beaaauuutiful art, sound and music, intriging story, and fun anomalies - some I was expecting from the start and some I completely missed too. Well worth playing :D
A very well made anomaly game, and it's free! Beautiful graphics, and an excellent plot as well. I hope the devs make more games. Rating: 8.5/10
The Queen’s Gondola is a very short spot-the-anomaly game that will have you doubting your own sight at times. It can take anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes to complete, and the gameplay is basically: walk into the first room, memorise your surroundings, go through a hallway that instructs you to either move forward if you don’t spot any anomalies or turn back if you do. Sometimes there are no anomalies, but your mind will play tricks on you, convince you your memory of how the room looks is incorrect, then you’ll go through the wrong door and be sent right back to square one. This game was done during a game jam, and although it’s fairly simple, I’m impressed. As someone that loves the “I’m on Observation Duty” series, I approve. Open your eyes/10.
Pretty cool a little game. Devs even managed to squeeze surprising amount of lore into it with some Lovecraftion undertones and subtle political commentary. Also I didn't receive product for free but I didn't pay for it at the store either.
Well done, polished little game that gave me about 40 minutes of entertainment for free. I completed it without encountering all the anomolies, so it probably has some replayability, too. I think it could be expanded to be a very engaging, larger, puzzle game.
