About The Sun Will Rise
The Sun Will Rise is a completely free Final Fantasy-style game about depression. Made by an international development team of gamers and mental health professionals, it is designed above all else to be a rewarding playing experience with a positive message behind it.
Overview:
A young Captain of the Guard finds a cape that makes him impervious to everything while the world around him gives physical forms to the demons in his mind. He must fight through those demons to achieve his goals.
Our Mission:
The player is put into the shoes of someone battling depression in order to foster a sense of understanding and to increase knowledge about the condition. The Sun Will Rise development team has worked with mental health professionals to be sure the information we are providing is accurate and helpful.
We want to reach out to gamers and offer them both entertainment and useful information. As a team, we have watched depression tear down the lives of too many of our friends and loved ones. We have seen and experienced the disconnect it creates between those affected and the people who care about them, but don't know how to help. In our own small way, we wanted to create something that may help to bridge that gap and to show that there is help and there is hope.
Our Team:
To accomplish these goals, we have brought together an international development team all with the shared interest in increasing awareness. The project has also benefited from the input of mental health professionals to be sure that we are giving accurate insights into depression and the steps that can be taken fight it. Together, we hope we have made a fun game and a useful resource for individuals and which will be made freely available to interested people and organizations.

RPG Maker strikes again! The Sun Will Rise is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. But this RPG Maker asset flip is even worse than the others, because, haha…1 found this helpful

Short rpg in classical form. It's a little disturbing and I was a bit offended when I was basically called a loser for playing video games, but other than that, I found the game suited my needs as an rpg gamer.
This is a very boring game, VERY Boring! The story is very drab, the graphics are OK, the game play lacks fun, the interaction between the player and game is nonexistent and it is very hard to get into the game at all. Not to sound harsh but it is ....... A tranquilizer for the soul!! It will put you to sleep with the lack of ...... well ANYTHING stimulating! Say something positive about the game......The battle graphics are OK.
