The Third Shift is a Game Boy Styled horror game inspired by classic horror titles like Resident Evil and Clock Tower.
As the newly hired security guard at the Roanoke Museum of History and Wonder, you’ll be working under the watchful eye of your boss, Daniel.

This is basically zombies but displayed in that uncanny mannequin style due to plastination. So that means I was terrified the entire time and will not be able to get those faces and screams out of my head and they will be the first thing I imagine before going to bed. I’ve been having a ton of fun with The Third Shift. To make a game that’s so well fleshed-out (ha) is an impressive feat for one developer and one composer. This is a game you have to explore, as every detail has a purpose, whether it’s plot-crucial, a hint towards lore, or just an easter egg. I love the amount of love, passion, and dark humor put into the lore of this game. It's a damn good story and a solid retro-styled game.1 found this helpful

This is a great game. It's a bit like FAITH with its retro gameboy graphics and slight body horror. It's not that scary of a game, and it's quite short, but it is an enjoyable time nonetheless. The game definitely nails the slightly unnerving environment of an empty museum, and I do enjoy the creature designs. I'd definitely recommend this game, and I can't wait to see what the dev does next. I wish I could give a middle ground review. All the parts of a great game are here. The atmosphere, the story, the scares, the game has those. It also lacks any kind of map that i can tell, and also has fixed save spots. Now I liked crow country alot and it ALSO has fixed save spots. I didn't like that about that game either. Can we please stop making games that look like old games but also have their lack of QoL? Like part of what stops me from replaying old classics is crap QoL. If they just changed this i would 100 percent change my review as the game content itself is good. If you don't mind the old, should have been fixed, QoL issues, this game is for you. It just bugs me they had 8 plus years to work on this and the decided not to change that. Tried AGAIN today to play and found a map. The map is basically useless. I won't be finishing this unfortunately.
