About The Tome of All Tales
The Tome of All Tales is a minimalist boomer shooter that generates a brand new old-school FPS adventure every single day, complete with different levels, enemies, and weapons that take 10-15 minutes to complete. It channels the aesthetic and feel of classic '90s shooters like Wolfenstein 3D while adding modern mechanics like dashing and combos, all wrapped up as a daily challenge you can tackle solo or compete on global leaderboards.
A new story each day!
Each and every day, The Tome of All Tales will generate a new old school FPS adventure with different levels, enemies and weapons. Each story takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete, making it the perfect "coffee break" shooter.
Endless possibilities
Today you're shooting aliens with your pulse rifle in a derelict spaceship, maybe tomorrow you'll swing your wand of fireball to keep skeletons away in a dark dungeon or face hordes of zombies in a ruined city. There's just no way to know what surprise is in store.
A trip back in time
The Tome of All Tales is a love letter to (very) old-school shooters such as Wolfenstein 3D, Blake Stone, Catacomb 3D and Nitemare 3D, back when walls were orthogonal and doors slid horizontally. Great care has been taken to emulate the feel and look of proto-FPS of the early '90s, while adding modern mechanics such as a dash and a combo system.
Play for fun or compete in the leaderboard
With many achievements and five difficulty levels for players of all skills, The Tome of All Tales can be enjoyed as a fun daily mini-game, something like Wordle but with guns. It is also possible to play it in a more competitive way, as the game tracks the best daily and monthly scores in an online leaderboard.
Is the daily story the same for everyone?
Yes. So if you've found a nice shortcut to reach the exit or the location of a juicy powerup, you can share it with your friends, knowing they'll find it too.

Nope. Every asset in The Tome of All Tales was hand designed and a combinatory generator picks them from a vast pool of enemies, weapons and levels (think "tabletop RPG encounter tables") to generate stories.

Simple (slightly modernized Wolf3d-like - a dash is available) yet quite addictive: 4 new randomly generated levels everyday, you want to know what they have to offer. It's perfect for short sessions (usually 15 to 20 minutes). Difficulty is usually OK (in Normal difficulty)1 found this helpful
If you like this type of game, you might get a few hours of fun out of this. It basically generates a short Wolfenstein 3D-ish game consisting of 4 levels once a day. While it uses proc-gen I found the scenarios aren't particularly imaginative and all the settings were pretty cliche. For example, the first day I played had me fighting Nazis in some kind of bunker. Still it was fun logging in each day for a short play session to see what the day's theme would be. I did this over a span of a couple weeks. There was a fair bit of variety. It's a niche game. You'll probably know from the trailer whether or not you'll like it.
What an interesting format - run of TOAT a day makes wolfenstein 3D itch go away.
