This is a game

This IS a fun short game. ^^ That's ALL I can pretty much say about it... You walk... You jump... You try to get to the end. There is a cute bunneh following you and everything looks adorable. I want to know the flavor of the rainbow throwers. You sir earned my thanks! ^(^-^)^

This is a game is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is an extremely badly made "tech demo" to see if someone could follow a Godot2D tutorial on how to make a platformer. The tutorial must have sucked, because this really is garbage. And why is the hamster thing done in pixelcrap and nothing else? It doesn't matter. This is a pointless exercise in a "developer" abusing Steam Direct so he can tell his imaginary girlfriend that he's a real "developer". Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). This kind of game experiment might be on itch.io but for a steam store/library I don't think it fits quality standards. Too short, lack of animation and even tho it fits the definition of a "game" it is yet not a significant game. Sorry.

Great game but it would be better if there were more levels tho and if the pets did something useful like collect coins or go to hard to reach places (maybe in future levels(hopefully))
