Δ Time (2020)

Δ Time is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Fachhochschule Salzburg (@fhsalzburg) in Austria. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This is a rather poorly made student project with particularly bad graphics (the first thing game development students must be taught is that gaming is a visual medium). [h1] Controller only [/h1] Hello ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, it's been a while since I've written a review, but my mental status has dropped to critically low, and needed to focus on D&D and politics for a while to further deteriorate my mind. Anyway, this game is amazing, especially for a game made by a bunch of snot-nosed bachelor's degree students. It reminds me of how Texas is now taking away the rights of parents and punishing them for giving their kids gender-affirming care. Predictable, but they will be coming after us gamers soon enough, we aren't free of their clutches, conservatives are demonstrably evil (or stupid) and want to maximize suffering for anyone that isn't the ruling class. But why does this game remind me of gender? Because Pink and Blue, and.... y'know.... [h1] Anyway [/h1] This game is a fun arcade action RPG, that brings in a new genre: You've heard of souls and souls-likes, but now I introduce to you a SOULS-LITE. Yes, that's right, it's an action RPG with a lot of the souls combat, but none of the loss. A stamina bar dictates your movement, and like SUPER-HOT, you can slow down time by just not moving. Игра 'Δ Time' – это глоток свежего воздуха для любителей головоломок. Идея манипулирования временем, хоть и не нова, здесь реализована крайне изобретательно. Каждый уровень представляет собой компактную, но хитроумную задачку, требующую не только логики, но и пространственного мышления. Дизайн уровней лаконичен, но эффективен, позволяя сосредоточиться исключительно на решении. Механика перемотки времени, перезагрузка и клонирование позволяют создавать невероятные цепочки событий, чтобы добраться до финиша. Иногда решения поражают своей элегантностью и нетривиальностью. Однако, стоит отметить, что игра не прощает ошибок. Даже небольшая оплошность может привести к полному ступору, заставляя переигрывать этап заново. Но именно это и делает 'Δ Time' такой захватывающей – чувство удовлетворения от разгаданной головоломки просто несоизмеримо. Управление отзывчивое, а визуальный стиль приятный и минималистичный. Музыкальное сопровождение не отвлекает, но создает атмосферу сосредоточенности. В целом, 'Δ Time' - это крепкая головоломка, которая заставит поломать голову, но принесет массу удовольствия. Рекомендую всем поклонникам жанра!
