About Toast Time
✦ AI summary
You pilot TERRY, a weaponized toaster defending Monday morning by flinging breakfast projectiles at interdimensional blobs while bouncing around arenas and toppling environmental hazards. It's a delightfully absurd blend of arcade shoot-em-up and tower defense wrapped in quintessential British humor, packed with 54 missions, 16 bread-based weapons, and endless hat customization.
Toast Time is a throwback to the golden age of video games where old-school homebrew titles fused arcade action with a distinctly British sense of humour.

An appetising arena shoot-em-up garnished with tower-defence elements and served warm with awesome-sauce (probably syrup).
Inter-dimensional time-blob beasties have sailed the cosmos in pursuit of spare time, and now they've found it, tasted it, on an idyllic Monday morning.
Assume the role of TERRY (toast-ejecting recoil & reload system), a humble and solitary toaster with an uncontrollable love for English breakfasts, hats and scheduling.
Click to launch toast, crumpets and magnitudes of other breakfast paraphernalia at the beasties. Bounce around and crush them with your hot metallic mass. Tip over bins, and use the environments to your advantage. Drink a little coffee and go a little crazy. Do everything it takes to defend toast time – you are Monday morning's final hope. Have your toast and eat it.

[h1] Very toasty game where you play as a toast and toast little folks. Protect the clock and do combos by quickly eliminating toasts to achieve 3 stars rating. Very casual experience if you don't enjoy such games just skip it or just keep playing while eating some toast in the meantime. Also note - always make your toast nice and crispy. Game sucks. Its a chaotic shmup platformer built for mobile devices but slapped on steam. The controls are frustrating and the level design felt like it never complimented its nature. As a game that feels like its trying to pose a genuine challenge, I found it more difficult to reign in any sense of precision, there's also so much happening at once in each level, if you're concentrating on one enemy, another will come and force you to start over. I didn't find it's gameplay loop fun at all.
A mobile game that gets pretty tiring after about 10 minutes. I was hoping the touch screen on my ROG Ally would help, sadly it only helped the controls, and the game play still had the 'if you have 60 seconds to spare' kind of game loop. I imagine I might have liked this 10 years ago on a phone, but it's Toast Time is a hard sell for a Steam release on any system.
This game is beyond easy. Click the bad guys over and over and win. $4.99 and never goes on sale. Should have stayed a mobile game and never ported over to PC.
Kinda on the fence on this one, i would give a thumbs-mid if i could. Originally built for smartphones with touch displays, it made its way to the PC. While controlling it with a mouse makes it somewhat easier, it doesn't have the same vibe to it. With that said, you get exactly what you expect. It's a goofy arcade game for a short period of time, but nothing more. The creator (Ashley Gwinnell, formerly Force of Habit) is giving some interesting insights to indie game developing: https://youtube.com/channel/UCa-dpzd9Zcc8bPAm18CpQDA +Funny theme with adequate visuals and sound design +Light-hearted ambience -Nothing much to get engaged with -Unlocks are grindy
