Trends is barely a game. It's a text only local multiplayer/hotseat browser tier game loosely ripping off Family Feud where you are presented with a word, and you must choose a word that you feel corresponds most closely to the original word. Instead of going to a survey from the studio audience, the game goes to a Google Trends API and returns a score to each player for how much their word combined with the word supplied by the game is trending in Google Searches. The technical implementation here is so deficient it's difficult to argue there is a technical implementation at all.. visuals are just text with an ugly colour scheme. Gameplay is non-existent, unless you consider making API calls against Google Trends a "game". They couldn't even work out how to do online multiplayer, that's how badly this was phoned in. This is obviously a web browser game that's been dumped on Steam by mistake, and serves no real purpose apart from polluting the Steam store. While this is free, so are other browser games, or asking your home assistant air freshener to play a quiz (and that's a better experience than this garbage that probably took half an hour to put together).

trends is dreadful and should be avoided at all costs. it's a jackbox game but in powerpoint with no sound design and only one minigame which it doesn't even tell you how to play.
