About Try to survive Today
In 2593, the Russian Federation united all the planets of the solar system and nearby galaxies, discovering new worlds. The colonization of several hundred planets was only the beginning of a grandiose process. Based on the principles of interplanetary solidarity, the Union of Colonies was named the RFUP (Russian Federation of United Planets).
Thanks to the unique technologies developed on the basis of energy crystals discovered on the planet Manoan, the RFUP has grown into an intergalactic technological superpower. These crystals, which provided the country with an unprecedented leap in development, turned out to be the key to the greatest discoveries in the history of mankind.
In 2507, the planet Manoan was abandoned due to the depletion of its resources, but the legacy of these crystals lived on. Over time, RFUP scientists mastered the process of synthesizing energy crystals on space stations, opening up new horizons for research and technology development in the country and beyond. So the settlers from the Russian Federation began a new chapter in the history of space exploration, leaving a mark on every tiny star system they explored.During the long-forgotten and lost centuries, when people went to the far reaches of space in search of new worlds, each colony sought to increase its population. To explore minerals and the suitability of planets for exploration, geological expeditions were sent to unexplored territories - desperate researchers who were ready to risk everything for the sake of what they wanted. One day, a young girl, Zlata, who has completed an internship on Mars and won the hearts of the scientific community with her knowledge, is sent on one of these daring outings.
Such expeditions were sent on small spaceships without weapons. The team consisted of a geologist pilot and a mechanized exoskeleton.
And so, in the very heart of the abode of ancient forces, where darkness is woven from timeless years, she hears the echoes of the SOS signal coming from the planet Manoan. This signal strikes her imagination, because the planet has been abandoned and uninhabited for fifty years according to all known archives of the Russian Federation. Having decided to take an amazing step into the unknown, Zlata is faced with mysteries that can turn all her beliefs and ideas about space upside down.

After a couple of weeks of playing, I noticed that I was coming back to the game not for the results, but for the rhythm itself. There's something almost meditative about it: enemies are coming from all directions, you're moving in a circle, aiming, shooting, and gradually clearing the area. It's not because you've become invincible, but because you've learned to sense when to retreat and when to pull the trigger. The game doesn't shout about itself. There are no epic cutscenes, overblown lore, or mandatory achievements. Just come in, play for half an hour, come out with the feeling that time has not been wasted. For an evening when you don't want to think, but want to feel progress, this format fits perfectly.5 found this helpful
I bought this game at a discount and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's early access and the game is clearly not yet polished, but it's a fun experience for the price. The coolest thing is the mech mechanic. You can stay inside your robot and smash enemies, or jump out and run around on foot while the mech covers you. Sounds weird on paper, but it actually works - dodging attacks as a tiny human, then hopping back into the cockpit for heavy firepower feels fresh. Plus you can scroll the mouse wheel to switch views on the fly: first-person, third-person, or top-down. Plays really smoothly with a controller too. Graphics are simple but clean. The main heroine actually looks nicely designed - not just some generic placeholder model you sometimes see in small indie games. Skill tree is straightforward: kill stuff, get points, spend them how you like. No spreadsheets or theorycrafting needed - just pick what feels fun to upgrade next. This game isn't trying to be a masterpiece, and it doesn't overcomplicate things. Sometimes after a long day you just want to boot something up, play for half an hour, and unwind. This fits that mood perfectly. There aren't many locations yet and the …4 found this helpful
Need to make the resources respawn. Running out of ammo in a horde like game is horrible. Need to lower the health of all the towers it wastes to much ammo and time. The towers are a negative to the game and remind the player how limited your resources are and enhance the negatives and put those into the spotlight as you cant do much. Enemies have to much health at the end when you have to protect the ship. I died twice and ran out of ammo all 3 times. Fix all of that and the game will be passable until then i cant recommend it as its more of a chore to get through and walk around. Game looks cool at least.4 found this helpful
Nice graphics, works well on Steam Deck. The gameplay loop is not as great. The hordes of enemies never stop coming so you run out of ammo. you collect ammo by shooting different colored crystals found in the environment, then crafting them, very clunky as your being swarmed. There needs to be at least a melee option and a breather between hordes please! Game has promise and I only paid 2 bucks, but I hope it gets more work done on it. As it sits now I cant recommend because it was frustrating. 3/18/26 Looks like it's not getting any more updates so definitely do not buy.3 found this helpful
I played Try to Survive Today for a couple of evenings. Like Vampire Survivors, everything here is built around gradual power-ups as you survive: you kill enemies, collect their souls, and immediately invest them in upgrading your damage, health, or new abilities. It feels like a snowball effect: at first, you're barely able to cope with a couple of monsters, but ten minutes later, you're clearing entire waves in a single volley. There is a difference, of course: here you have complete control—you aim and dodge, and there's no auto-attack like in the original. But the idea of literally growing stronger every few seconds by defeating enemies works just as reliably. The minimalist leveling system, without unnecessary skill tree branches, also resembles the sleek approach of Vampire Survivors: choose an upgrade, get an immediate reward, and move on. The graphics are restrained, the interface is unobtrusive, the music is unobtrusive everything contributes to the gameplay. It's clear that the project is in early access, but the basic mechanics of "kill → level up → survive" are well-established and provide that same sense of progress that many played the aforementioned vampire surviva…2 found this helpful
Got it for 1 dollar. It was well worth that. It is good gameplay wise, but bad resource wise. They designed this to run out of bullets. For 10 dollars... mmmm, I would have refunded it. Dev: "You want play gam? You get no bullet." You need 3 different color Bio Masses to make bullets, and the yellow one hardly ever spawns. When you increase in level, you can upgrade your gun! Yea! Me: "Let's see, the bugs were 13 HP, and it took me 4 bullets to down one, now it should take 3." Dev: "You increase level? I increase level of HP for'd bug. Double." A bit of hyperbole on my part. So, in the end, you are frantically just trying to keep up with the enemy level increase. And the girl takes a long time getting in and out of the "Steel Soldier", your mech. I really like some of what they did, but dislike the sparsity of the necessary resources. which drags the game to a halt. I am running around looking for yellow crystals, with a horde of bullet sponge creatures on my tail. Also, a bit buggy technically. Went to input my name, and the interface disappeared, and I needed to ALT+TAB out to close the game. It has potential, but for me, the lack of crystals is making me shelf it, and hope …1 found this helpful
