A collection of 00's era flash games filled with jumpscares, each a 5-15 minute walking simulator. It was supposedly popular in Japan back in the day. Some of them can still be played for free on the author's web page. Tsugunohi is a relic of a bygone era that aged very poorly. As all you need to do is press one button to walk left, you might as well watch it entirely on YouTube and lose nothing from the experience. Avoid.3 found this helpful
Tsugunohi is a creepy little walking simulator with a collection of short horror stories to choose from. All you do is walk left, and the atmosphere, tension, and weirdness slowly build around you. The gameplay is extremely simple—just one direction, no real interaction—but that’s part of the charm. It leans heavily on visuals, sound design, and pacing to deliver its scares. I wouldn’t call it groundbreaking, but it definitely has its moments. Some stories are more effective than others, and the horror has a bit of a campy, retro vibe that actually works in its favor. If you’re into short, unsettling experiences with lo-fi weirdness, it’s worth checking out.1 found this helpful
FLASHING IMAGES WARNING FOR THOSE WITH PHOTOSENSITIVITY creepy, unsettling, unique visual style, and I like that the different stories are interconnected!
initially i was super excited about this game and the value it showed but was rather disappointed as each story was practically identical, jumpscares were the exact same and the endings for each part were also the same thing over and over again. it got too repetitive to a point i found myself just trying to skip the same dialog in hopes something new came up; it did not. hopefully in the future it becomes something more.
A classic
Keep in mind. This is not a game in technical definition. In most cases you just go left and that´s it for a whole Episode. Tsugunohi ... you can imagine it best like an interactive story. Your character walks to the left while a creepy situation unfolds. While the first few episodes give you some nice shivers later episodes become creepy as hell. It´s really sgowing how much better Athor ImCyan gets over the years he created this series. Artwise it´s what you saw in the trailer. A mixture of handdrawn and photo style. The stories are good enough to give you a mild shiver. Each one lasting around 15 minutes. This package contains 9 of such stories. If you like them there are two more available as DLC. The price is okay. But a sale wouldn´t hurt as well. It´s a work of art worth buying,
