TUNNEL DIVERS is a fast and unusually focused twin-stick shooter that turns confined spaces into one of its most important gameplay mechanics. Instead of placing the player in wide arenas with generous room to maneuver, it sends futuristic fighters through narrow tunnels filled with hostile robots, enemy pilots, projectiles, and obstacles. This creates a constant feeling of pressure because movement and positioning are almost as important as shooting. The game was developed and published by Spasman Games, and its relatively straightforward premise hides a surprisingly substantial mixture of solo missions, multiplayer competition, cooperative play, customization, and community-created content. Controlling a ship requires the player to balance movement with independent aiming, making good reflexes essential once the screen becomes crowded. The enclosed environments give combat a distinctive character because simply retreating in a straight line is rarely an effective solution. TUNNEL DIVERS is a fast little space shooter that caught me off guard with how much it actually puts into such a simple idea. I am flying a small futuristic ship through tight tunnels while fighting robots, and the enclosed spaces make everything feel much more frantic than a normal space shooter. I have to keep moving because there is not much room to hide, and the game can quickly turn into a mess of enemies, bullets and explosions. I like that the whole game is built around this close quarters idea because it gives the shooting a clear identity instead of just being another space game. The movement is probably the strongest part for me. The ship feels quick and I have to constantly think about where I am going because the tunnels leave me with limited space to work with. The single player campaign has 20 handmade missions and four boss fights, which gives me a decent amount of actual content to work through. I also like that I can change my ship loadout with different weapons and modules, so I can adjust how I want to approach the tougher missions. Challenging and simply fun.

Thousands of retro top-down shooters are infesting Steam, and "TUNNEL DIVERS" is just more pollution in a crowded market of terrible games. There are thousands of these on Steam (you can go see for yourself if you search for the tag on the store, I'm not kidding). And this is far from being one of the best of those. This is a pretty generic 2D top down twin stick shooter (but at least there's walls, I guess that makes it feel slightly more like a platformer??). Shoot stuff, avoid hazards, take down a rogue AI. I missed the days when the only AI was a fictional robot menace rather than entire games now being made with AI slop. But I digress... this may not be the worst pixelcrap twin stick shooter on Steam, but there's no prizes for being the most handsome guy in the burns ward. Top-down/twin stick shooting is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lackluster experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. Разнообразие улучшений для дайвера и его оборудования подстегивает к исследованию и поиску новых возможностей. Каждый найденный артефакт или улучшение дает преимущество в борьбе за выживание. Несмотря на кажущуюся простоту, 'TUNNEL DIVERS' предлагает глубокий и захватывающий игровой опыт. Рекомендую всем любителям аркад с примесью стратегии и тем, кто не боится погрузиться в темноту.
