Well, it is a complete game – more than just an asset flip – but that's the extent of good things I can say about it. Resolution doesn't go past 1080p, so expect blurry images and somewhat unreadable text. The abundance of the latter being the main method of delivery for a rather dull story. Full of broken English, failed attempts at comedy, and boring characters. It's “cool factor” stems from the “mafia wannabe syndrome” that doesn't translate well to the western world. The gameplay is just clicking “next” and a few simplistic puzzles like “guess the code” or “solve this tiny nonogram”. All the effort was put towards hand drawn arts, that are… bearable at best. Audio consists of one repetitive track. A visual novel that fails at being either visual or a novel… out of 10.

"Two Weeks in Painland" is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. Kudos go to the author here for, despite dumping a garbage non-game e-book onto Steam, at least not making that e-book about his imaginary anime girlfriend. Most e-books on Steam are about the authors imaginary girlfriend, and it's a struggle to comprehend the sheer enormity of the creepy cringe of it all. So instead we get a kind of "detective thriller crime" e-book where you pretend to be a cool internet hacker and for some reason decide to spy on people who can bust your kneecaps. Yeah, so even though this is isn't about the authors imaginary girlfriend, the writing is still garbage. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... im…
