Players praise this visual novel sequel for its engaging character dynamics, particularly between the protagonist cousins, along with its well-written emotional depth that balances slice-of-life moments with meaningful character development and grounded angst. The game is appreciated for its beautiful art style, free-to-play accessibility, multiple save slots, toggleable mature content, and the developer's thoughtful author's notes. Some players note the incestuous relationship between cousins may not be for everyone, though this doesn't diminish the game's overall quality for those who enjoy
I was elated when I saw another novel about my lovely cousins and totally free at that (●♡∀♡)What a precious gift ♥ I was savoring it as slowly as I could :) Thank you for: +finally more than one page of save slots, even for a linear novel it's very appreciated♡ +three cute enjoyable slice-of-life stories and the opportunity to choose the order how to read them, a short summery is available. +three author's notes for each story♡ I llove this feature, it always feels kinda bonding and enlightening. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3469892052 +my adorable Kai alive and in modern world with all other characters mentioned aww that was healing♡ +explicit adult content without any patches, dlc or other headache \o/ the maturity content can be toggled off. +the promise of potentially more Yuel&Tavi stories despite them being not very popular (that fact broke my heart and destroyed all the faith in humanity⋋_⋌), it feels good to know your love is shared by the writer herself and now I can leave with the hope of reuniting with my gorgeous cousins again♡ +new sides of my beloved boys and I'm so grateful and excited about that \o/ For example, I must admit I al…18 found this helpful

This is a great not-so-mini episodic sequel to Unluckily in Love (which I recommend you play first to understand how things got here). I really love the dynamic between Yuel and Tavi which is basically the anti-social tsundere and the extroverted playboy tropes combined. Fair warning that this relationship is incest because they are cousins, so if you don't want to get into it because of that then it's not for you honestly. Otherwise, it's a solid visual novel with some NSFW scenes which are pretty hot. I recommend!1 found this helpful
Wholesome fun for the whole family
While I admit that at this point I'll read anything Ebi-hime writes about Yuel and Tavi, this world is my favorite. The angst feels very grounded - Yuel's problems have clear roots and ways for him to cope with them, and I find that both rewarding to read about and reassuring. There don't need to be evil kings for their world to be fraught, and there's a beautiful use of both the grumpy/sunshine and hurt/comfort romance tropes. I also really love the art; it's clean and simple and very pretty. So while I'll happily read about Yuel and Tavi in Victorian England, a mythical middle eastern land, or as space aliens or emus, Unluckily in Love will always be my comfort read with the two of them. Give it a try.
Note: My original review (posted below) is from when the game was free, and the text of the review reflects this. As the price change had nullified all reviews from those who had obtained the free product, I deleted my old review and re-purchased the game in order to support the dev. The original Unluckily in Love was my first introduction to Yuel and Tavi and their various iterations, so I was incredibly excited for this sequel story to come out! It's a perfect follow-up to UIL; while the original is, for the most part, a fluffy slice-of-life story, the spectre of Yuel's father and his death hangs over the story all the while. This more serious undertone was one of the things that I sincerely enjoyed, as I felt it made the story stronger and more memorable, but it also makes way for this series of extremely lighthearted sequel episodes as a well-deserved treat for Yuel, Tavi, and their readers! The first episode introduces Yuel at work, as well as his colorful cast of coworkers. I was really pleased to see Kai from With Eyes of Ice[/ur…
