In Fair Spirits is a pretty good VN to me, but I can't say I am too accurate of a judge here, as it was also one of my firsts. I personally liked the different underlying currents that moved Abel's character, because lets be honest, as much as we like Edmund as the MC, a large majority of the story and implied context is done so through Abel due to Edmund not really talking all that much. It gives a different perspective on a protagonist than most writers are comfortable with; Abel has genuine character flaws that make it easy to hate on him and moments that are the complete opposite to balance it. Even who he is as a whole is portrayed differently than I imagine most writers would choose to do (in a good way), and the story does it well. With that being said, I would have liked more content focusing on Edmund. I get that this is a BL novel between Edmund and Abel, but the plot doesn't really progress much (outside of the beginning) whenever Abel isn't on screen or at least mentioned. The story sets up an interesting premise with a different take on "reincarnation" to introduce a character from a past age into the modern era, and then doesn't do much with it. Lovely little VN. Abel is a refreshing take on a guy in these kind of novels. Was enjoyable to read and super cute.
A really good follow up to the last two in this series! I loved Ed and Abel's relationship and thought the story wrapped them up nicely.
