Uprising offers more strategy than a military sim, and more action strategy than a shoot'em up. Using your hi-tech assault tank, loaded with powerful weapons, you need to establish tidal bases, mine for power, build factories and direct legions of allied units against the enemy - all in an amazing 3D world. The path to the stars was heralded as a new beginning for peace, expansion and discovery. It did not happen. The oppressive Imperium power now controls the whole of known space, and the masses are restless. Now is the time to rise up and smash this regime.

Uprising: Join or Die is one of the most distinctive real-time strategy experiments of the late 1990s, developed by Cyclone Studios and now preserved on Steam through Ziggurat. Rather than following the traditional top-down command structure that defined the RTS boom of its era, the game places players directly inside the cockpit of a powerful hover tank, the Wraith, while simultaneously granting them control over base construction, troop deployment, and battlefield management. This hybrid design—melding first-person vehicular combat with strategic oversight—was bold for its time and still feels refreshingly different today. Set in a bleak sci-fi future where a brutal authoritarian regime known as the Imperium rules with military dominance, the campaign casts players as part of an underground resistance fighting to reclaim planetary freedom one battlefield at a time. The story is conveyed through mission briefings, radio chatter, and tone-setting cutscenes rather than elaborate cinematics, but its atmosphere of desperate rebellion remains engaging. I created my steam account when i bought my first pc as i got the orange box too. I put a note to pray to have Uprising on steam so i can play the game again, as Uprising is one of my the 2 first videogames i ever played. And now, it's here, what a time to be on steam <3 This game is a gem, both FPS and RTS, 6 units, buildings, 13 weapons on the tank, HELL YEAH BABY §
