Valley Of The Moon

I don't know what I just played but this is the worst attempt at a knockoff Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley game I could have tried. Movement is clunky and stilted, items swing the way you're facing, not where you're aiming. And you can't turn to face an object if you're touching it. The $3 I spent on this was too much, this seems like somebody's high school Game Maker project more so than a serious attempt at a commercial game.

If you like walking slowly soul-crushingly long distances, tedious restrictions on how you can farm, and no tutorial. I still dont know where all my coins go, seeing as I've never bought a thing.

Doesn't quite hit the mark. The promise of a Harvest Moon/Stardew experience was dashed fairly quickly. Right off the bat, the map is overcrowded with obstacles to be cleared, which would be fun enough, however your character is not attached to the grid system everything else is on. So after selecting the correct tool, you have to make a guess on if you are the right distance to clear the crop/grass/rock/log in the selected square. You also don't appear to be able clear anything that is on a square above you, only left, right or down. There is only one person you can talk to from the start of the game and he gives you a quest to go into the caves to collect ingredients for a potion, which appears to be necessary to talk to the people in town. As in, you can not go into town until you make the potion. I did not get to that point though as the combat system is clunky and intuitive. Don't worry though, there is no health in the game, so you can't be killed as the monsters move back and forth in front of and through you as you try to figure out how the fire ball spell works. With a little more love, this could have been a nice game, especially for its price point, however the last …
