Fae Farm

The quality of life features in this game are excellent. It feels very smooth and convenient to play, with beautiful, high-quality animations that create a relaxing, cozy atmosphere. My biggest complaint is the social aspect. It feels surprisingly hollow and underdeveloped, especially for a game like this, where building relationships should be one of its strongest features. Overall, the game does many things well, and I was able to overlook the weak social system. However, I cannot recommend it at its full price. I bought the game along with all of its DLC during the Steam Summer Sale at 66% off, and at that price, I think it offers decent value. The main reason I can't recommend it more strongly is the sheer number of bugs. In fact, I've had to stop playing because I encountered a bug that prevents me from buying livestock, effectively blocking my progress. Considering how long the game has been available, the fact that it still suffers from this many bugs is simply unacceptable.

I'll start by saying that I played Fae Farm long enough to generally complete all of the main objectives, but it unfortunately never kept me hooked enough to want to keep going afterward. It's a decent farming simulator if you just want to power through the core progression milestones, but it lacks that special, addictive endgame loop required to make a cozy game truly last. I feel a bit bad saying this because I know a lot of people absolutely adore the visual aesthetic of this game, but I personally found the art style to be kind of blocky and not particularly pretty to look at over long play sessions. With so many visually stunning or beautifully stylized cozy games out there right now, the low-poly, chunky presentation here felt a bit outdated and just didn't completely click for me. To be clear, the mechanics work well enough to get you through the story, and the magical elements add a nice little twist to the standard farming loop. But once those primary tasks are checked off your list, the world begins to feel a bit hollow, and there isn't much substantive depth left to pull you back in. In the end, while it isn't a bad game by any means, it didn't leave a lasting impress…

The game has too many glitches for uninterrupted fun. If you happen to proceed too quickly between clicks or talk to someone immediately after using a skill the game will freeze for an unreasonable amount of time.

It's one of my favorite games. I love farming games, but also I love looting, foraging, and mining. The farming system is the best out there in videogames, very convenient but not entirely easy. The flower breeding system is the most satisfying one I've ever seen as well. The mines are amongst my favorite places in the game. Although both DLC's felt a little bit weak for me, the base game is amazing as it is.

Best played in MP, solo gets very tedious after a while. Ran into no problems in MP. The only way to get seasonal crops is to transform them. I initially didn't like this method, have since changed my mind. But then again, what's the point of seasonal crops if you just make the same foods over and over. Ran into a bug playing solo that forced me to exit the game and reload since I couldn't equip some tools. I like that it automatically switches tools for what ever your need is. Took a while to get used to this. Don't like that you must use mana for tool special abilities. Like watering, to water an area you have to use both mana and stamina. Even though I have it set for double daytime it still feels like the days are too short. At least when the day ends you're automatically teleported to your house. This was a great QOL addition. No need to sleep, work until the day ends and no penalties. Game gets very tedious. I hate having to pet and brush animals every friggen day. Also there are no sprinklers. Watering is a pain. I just don't want to do either of these three any more. Seems to me it's just easier to buy food then plant, water, chop, and make it. Just go to 1st dungeon,…
