VentureVerse: Legend of Ulora is a compact top-down action-adventure that mixes dungeon exploration, environmental puzzles, combat, equipment progression, cooperative play, and level creation. Developed and published by Widefrog Games, it has the character of an old-school adventure while introducing enough different activities to keep its relatively modest campaign from feeling overly repetitive. Rather than relying on elaborate graphics or a complicated role-playing system, the game places most of its attention on exploration and solving the challenges presented by each dungeon. The adventure begins when the player's character discovers a mysterious stone and becomes involved with the goddess Drael. Her Champion has vanished, her strength is fading, and an unlikely new hero is sent on a journey to help restore the situation. The story is deliberately straightforward and mainly serves as a framework for visiting different locations. It is not a narrative-heavy RPG filled with lengthy dialogue sequences or intricate character relationships, but its uncomplicated fantasy premise suits the game's accessible and playful nature. VentureVerse: Legend of Ulora is a free top down action adventure that mixes simple combat with a lot more puzzle solving than I expected. I play as an adventurer who gets pulled into a quest after finding a mysterious stone and being contacted by the goddess Drael. The Champion of Ulora has disappeared, so I have to travel through different dungeons and work out what is going on. The story keeps things fairly light, but I like that the game does not take itself too seriously and is willing to throw some unusual ideas at me along the way. The biggest strength for me is the variety in the levels. There are 19 levels and they are not all built around the same basic dungeon formula. I get traps in Hollypoint Castle, push block puzzles in the Eclispian Monolith, combat in the Valkyrie's Court and even a strange golf themed section at the Spin Disk Golf Society. I like this because the game keeps changing what it wants me to do. Some levels are more about fighting while others make me stop and think about how the environment works. A very fun Adventure-RPG very focused around puzzle-solving. You essentially travel to different dungeons, each of which have their own unique mechanics and you must figure out how to get through each room and reach the end. The game is VERY reminiscent of dungeons in Zelda games. It also has a level editor where you can make and play user-created levels which is awesome! I do hope that this game eventually comes back to the store and garners more attention, as it absolutely deserves it.

I actually think this game is dope and deserves more attention. It plays like a classic Zelda dungeon crawler but with custom levels on top of the main story missions.. it's also coop!
