About Warpaint

It's chess with catapults! Warpaint is a casual tabletop wargame where you command an army of dwarves and catapults. You can paint your army with pixel perfect control, just like real miniatures! Victory is won through superior tactical positioning and siege dexterity. The game is easy to learn and quick to play.

Your units attack and capture pieces similar to chess. Use catapults to assault castle walls and break open gates.

The game is designed to be a fresh approach to classic tabletop war games such as chess, Warhammer, and Siege / Weapons And Warriors / Crossbows and Catapults.

Do away with the rule-books, manuals, and tedium of dice rolling, play Warpaint!

Other features include ranked matchmaking, army painting, and VR support.

Features

-Army Painter: you can paint your models in full detail and then field them on the battlefield!

-Local multiplayer (Vive + Keyboard & Mouse)
-Cross platform multiplayer: Mac, PC, and VR can all play in the same game.
-Play online with Steam friends
-Artificial Intelligence, play against the computer

Quotes

"This is a game you could get very very good at, but pick up very very easily -- and that's a balance that not all game developers are capable of doing -- and I think that's what this developer has really nailed here" - Pliacy

"My younger son, 13 and me spent an hour in Warpaint swapping the headset over each turn. that is the longest he has ever played a vr game says it is great so well done" - HappyOtter

"It's a fun miniatures tabletop game without the expense of the tables or the miniatures" - twynstar

"I really enjoyed your game" - Centagon

"Played a little single player by myself and enjoyed a challenging defeat. Thanks for creating such a great game! I can't wait to see it grow even more" - Funkbass87

Gameplay Overview
Each player has an army of dwarves and catapults. There are 3 kinds of dwarves, each has a different movement pattern. You can move each of your units once per turn. Catapults are neutral, if you control units next to it, you may shoot the catapult once per turn. You can kill the opponents pieces either by moving onto their tile, or by knocking them over with a cannonball. Players take turns moving and shooting until one team is eliminated, or on some maps, the castle is captured.

You need this game! Anyone who enjoys strategy, from classic style board games (like chess) to turn based tactical rpgs, you will love this game. My only compaint is that we don't have enough people playing it yet, so online is still slow. So pick this game up, get good, and try to beat me!

An extremely basic board game with fun catapult interaction in VR. Features crossplay with PC and an indepth paint editor for your miniatures. It's not terrible but it's not worth the asking price.

Absolutely blood awful. I thought it would be a fun, physicsbased strategy boardgame. It was so horrendous, in every way. Every smooth VR control you ever experienced, this game has none of it. Want to change camera / zoom in zoom out? Well you cant, or i couldn´t figure it out. You dont grab the screen, you cant use the sticks. Clicking the right stick teleports you somewhere, but it´s usually beneath the map or into models. The graphics are horrendous, the animations are non existent. And the gameplay seemed awfully shallow. DONT BUY. EVER!!

Even if you have a powerful PC, it will still be problematic to try and play, it just never loads correctly. It COULD be fun, but it is just horribly formatted to run on any device other than the developers. I wish I could be positive, but I really can't.

Its broke. Just broken. Tutorial button doesnt work. Right hand flys into oblivion (Righty works for beatsaber and boneworks just fine btw). this thing is busted. Looks fun, but can't play due to the game being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken.

If you're thinking of buying this because it reminds you of Crossbows and Catapults... or because it looks like fun... You'd be wrong. On both accounts. I purchased this on a whim because of what I wanted it to be, and ignored the many accurate reviews telling me what it actually was. Don't do the same. If a developer reads this and cares - I'd love to help you "fix" this... because the idea is really cool.
