About Way of the Passive Fist
Way of the Passive Fist is a unique and colorful arcade brawler. Parry, Dodge and Dash to outwit and outlast your enemies on a desolate planet ruled by raiders, mutants and fanatical sun worshipers. It's a new kind of tactical fighting in the licensed arcade brawler for the 90s cartoon you wish existed.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. SAVE YOURSELF THE BS WE HAD TO GO THROUGH. Genuinely evil game. The core mechanics are SO SOLID, but it drops the ball in execution so bad. The boss battles are so bad, it's so hard to tell whether a move can be parried, dodged, or it's something you just gotta avoid. Some enemies are just pure evil, especially when you are met with one that combos you to death and the last checkpoint was two levels ago. The clutter on the screen can be overwhelming too, you have 4 of the same enemy on all sides of you and you can't tell which one's attacking you cause you don't have 4 eyeballs. Even worse when it's a similar but different enemy type, they'll launch an attack with the exact same sound effect as the other type but it hits you differently. This game almost made me end up in a padded cell. It's not healthy for the mind. Literally ragebait the game. I've never felt so angry after finishing a game. No sense of relief or accomplishment. Just left me fuming. IMPORTANT EDIT: This game doesn't deserve a positive rating, if you actually check the reviews, the positive ones are usually from people who only played the game for about 30 minutes, and the negative…2 found this helpful
EDIT: THERES AN UPDATE TO THE REVIEW AT THE BOTTOM, PLEASE STAY AND READ, THERE IS NO REASON FOR YOU TO DO THIS TO YOURSELF. HOW DOES THIS SH*T HAVE A POSITIVE RAITING!!!!??? i swear people reviewing as of late are braindead. Let me start by painting you a picture: According to the achievements, less than HALF the players defeated the FIRST boss (game released in 2018), and i understand it... why? because of the main mechanic, more on that later, since i always leave the worst for last. MAIN MECHANIC: In this """brawler""" YOU DONT have a main attack to harm enemies (!?!?!?!). So how do you fight? You shuolder check, parry and dodge untill your enemy gets tired, at which moment you can use the same button you use to shoulder check, which THEN becomes a hit which insta kills said enemy..... so much for the "passive fist" i guess. Theres ANOTHER attack which is a special move, which consists of your mechanic arm one-punching the SH*T out of your enemies (more "lore breaking" or "plot bending" of the "passive fist" thing) BUT.... how does this Special Move WORK? well... you have to charge up a combo in order to use it ONCE. In order to charge the SM bar you have to chain combos …1 found this helpful
Simple mechanics, yet oddly satisfying. No fancy combos in this beat em up, you just parry and dodge, having a successful streak charges your mechanical arm and you can do a powerful attack. Pros: -Good art, animation, music and atmosphere -Adjustable difficulty -Replayable for scoring -Very fluid and responsive Cons: -require patience -no fancy stuff
An incredibly original and fun brawler
Agosto. Contraponientes de melocotón y azúcar, y el sol dentro de la tarde, como el hueso en una fruta. La panocha guarda intacta su risa amarilla y dura. Agosto. Los niños comen pan moreno y rica luna. (F. Lorca)
Way of the Passive Fist is a distinctive and inventive take on the classic side-scrolling beat ’em up formula, developed and published by Household Games Inc. It takes the conventions of the genre—fast-paced brawling, endless waves of enemies, and combo-heavy combat—and turns them on their head by focusing on defense rather than aggression. Instead of punching through hordes of foes with flurries of attacks, players must learn patience, precision, and rhythm. The protagonist, known simply as the Wanderer, is not a traditional fighter. His strength lies in his ability to parry, dodge, and exhaust his opponents until they collapse from fatigue. This inversion of the genre’s typical design transforms the game into something that feels both familiar and entirely fresh, rewarding observation and timing over brute force and button mashing. The combat system is deceptively simple at first glance but quickly reveals layers of complexity. Every enemy attack is telegraphed with distinct animations and audio cues, requiring the player to carefully read patterns and react in real time. A well-timed parry deflects the enemy’s strike and drains their stamina, while a dodge helps avoid heavy or …
