About Weeping Skies

My father, Sherlock Stiles, had been withering before my very eyes. I had heard of an elixir that could restore the strength of his youth, but its cost was much too high. When I took the case of the disappearance of the wife of Puss in Boots, I planned to fetch a good sum from it. The greed of my feline client was known throughout the city, but I believed his promise of a “plentiful reward.” So my colleague Vincent and I set out for the scene of the crime.

Immerse yourself in a world of intrigue and secrets in this dark and gloomy town full of magical inhabitants. Encounter winding alleyways, demonic traps, familiar characters, and mind-bending puzzles!

It's a typical adventure hidden object game, though I quite liked the aspect of keeping at least one object in your inventory and it is usable throughout the game unlike most other HoGs. However, I am quite disappointed in a bug as far into the game as I've gotten. Once you poison the plant you can't further proceed to finish the game which is a shame. It's a bug people should be aware of before purchasing.

A decent HOG that is worth the few hours to waste. Pros. ok story simple puzzles ok gameplay time ( a bit less than 3 hours for the main story) Cons. no voice acting no bonus story low resolution no support for widescreen ends up having black bars on the sides a bit buggy (encountered 2 bugs one where the hit point was very small and had to keep trying and the other were the item vanished from the inventory) How to fix the bugs --------------------------------------- to collect the spider venom you have to place the flask under its fangs and a bit to the left. keep trying and you will get it. you will notice after collecting the venom the item will not be in your inventory. don't worry! press esc save and quit to the main menu and come back to the game... Voila!! your item is back! --------------------------------------- overall despite those bugs i kinda enjoyed it. i really like old HOGs more than newer ones.. it shows (for most parts) that the devs cared making them... though for the sake of the game length... get it on sale. 7/10 for the game

Standard Fantasy HOG. Uses some fairy tale tropes. Decent if your in the mood for this sort of game. Not spectacular.

Weeping Skies – Review I’ll be honest: I wasn’t expecting anything good from this old game. I’ve played so many titles in this genre where I just feel like an errand girl, running back and forth with no sense of purpose, like a headless chicken. But… SURPRISE: what a pleasant surprise this turned out to be. Let me tell you, the visuals are some of the most gorgeous I’ve seen — truly beautiful. The story isn’t anything special, nor is it meant to be taken seriously, but it still manages to pull you in. And the mini-games? Genuinely interesting and nicely varied, keeping you engaged right up until the silly final twist. 8/10

I completed this game in January, 2023, on Windows 11. I like hidden object game and I think Weeping Skies is fine. It has magic, a 1920s theme, a few cut scenes, and a female protagonist. It's pretty much the formula for these games. It took about 4 hours to do the whole game. There are a few bugs in the game. In the hidden object puzzles, some items need to be combined or repaired before they can be collected. The game gives you a text prompt when you start interacting with a part of an item but you need something else to finish the interaction (two halves of a tool, for example). On a couple of occasions, the text prompt/hint was completely wrong. For example, I needed to mend a paper fan with a thread and needle. But when I clicked on the damaged fan, the text told me "If I had a magnet I could remove this paperclip!" [or something like that]. I rate this bug as NBD (no big deal). Also, sometimes I did the right thing, but I must not have clicked in the exact right place. I used the available hint highlight feature and the game told me to do exactly what I just did. I tried again and eventually clicked the exact right place. I consider this a feature, not a bug. An…
