Puss in Boots: Fear Not Hooman is a Unity asset flip, although it's not the most egregious kind, rather it's assembled by copying and filling out a Unity game template for a 2D retro pixel platformer, and dumping a bunch of Unity Asset store sprites and textures into it. We know this because in the game folder structure there's a list of credits for the people who actually did the work creating the Asset Store assets. Kudos to the "developer" for at least being a bit honest about that. No original game development was done here, and the resulting mish-mash of lazy 2D retro pixel assets (poor quality to begin with) really affronts the eyes. The game is unpolished and un-fun, which is to be expected due to the unprofessional way this was "developed".7 found this helpful
There might be some potential, but not in this state, the game is far from complete, it needs a ton of polish, and playability tweaking, then it could start becoming interesting. It doesn't save between level, so once you've completed the horrid first level, level 2 starts you on a unicycle without explanation how to play and you die in 5 seconds from falling! Then back to the very begining! The graphics are so much better than how the game plays that it makes me wonder if it's not an asset flip, or worse, if the sprites have not been "borrowed" from another game.5 found this helpful
Look, its not a great game. It's wonky, has no save feature or tutorial, and you'll probably die a lot when you play, but it is fun. It takes some practice but not much to learn the mechanics, and the platforming is fairly smooth. It def could use some work, but overall for 3 bucks its a pretty good game. If you don't think it will be your thing, don't get it, but if you're curious and like older, unforgiving arcade games, go for it.2 found this helpful
