About Where Are You?

The Story

You play as Alice, an 18-year-old whose summer vacation takes an unexpected turn: when she discovers the old notebook of her late grandfather, she stumbles upon tales of an incredible journey — of an alchemist who can turn everything into gold, and of a path leading out of the dull village of Süßsponn into a world full of dangers, wonders, and temptations. On your journey, you’ll explore four hand-crafted pixel worlds — each shaped by its own unique atmosphere. You’ll fight, combine, solve puzzles, and make choices that mean more than they first appear. What is the truth behind Grandpa’s mysterious book? And who can you really trust here? Does morality always require an authority — and is there such a thing as one truth?Join Alice on an adventure about morality, power — and the question of whether values can endure without truth.

Gameplay

  • Solve puzzles by combining items with each other and with the world around you
  • Learn new abilities and use them wisely in battles against cute candy creatures
  • Talk to strange, endearing, and threatening characters to uncover more about your grandfather — and about yourself
  • Explore four imaginative worlds: Cotton Candy, Licorice, Gummy, and Cookie — each with its own dangers and rules
  • Discover the meaning of morality, values, and truth

So far I am really enjoying the game, its clearly made with a lot of passion by a single developer that put a lot effort to make the experience and put in quite a generous amount of content. Reading all dialogue is definitely recommended as it gives a lot of context and backstory, and the main part of the game is the story. It tackles deeper topics mixed with light-hearted conversations, greatly enjoyed this so far. It has a lot of work put into new visual art for each chapter which I appreciate a lot and a ton of unique characters + runs great on my pc with no significant bugs.

I was so curious about the game and the more curious you get, the more it pulls you in and keeps you hooked, this is how exactly I enjoy the game. The game is very independent as a project. That you can really feel the passion behind it like the Dev actually cared about the little things and details, and it shows in overall vibe of the game. It pulled me in more than I expected. The character feels interesting in a subtle way that there’s something about how it move and react that makes you curious and keeps you going. It’s one of those games where you start filling in the gaps yourself, which makes it more personal. The graphics, even its 2D but they’ve got a unique style that actually works really well. For an independent project, this game hits way harder than it should, and I genuinely enjoyed my time with it. highly recommended and worth the effort. Kudos to the Devs.

A small game told in a charming way with its own unique sense of humor. It makes you both laugh and think. The focus here is clearly on the protagonist’s story as she encounters many different characters as well as on exploring. Anything else would be a spoiler, but the trailer does a great job of showing what the game is like and what it’s about without giving too much away. I'd buy it again!
