Witness To Mass Incarceration

This interactive game was interesting. Viewing this perspective from of a first time incarcerated woman gave insight into the emotions and events that may likely be experienced by many others. It brings attention to the internal emotions that are not likely to be told throughout the judicial process.

I needed more honestly, and need it nowwww lol. The game was very short, (most of my hours played was me accidentally leaving the game open as I was distracted by my kids.) but did a great job of pulling you in from the second you start the chapter, and having you wish there was so much more by the end. I don't know if they will ever do more chapters of the game, as the credits make it seem as if this was a college student summer project along with Evie Litwok, the narrator and producer of the game I believe. Some of the places you need to click are a bit obscure, but they provide hints in case you cant figure them out. I wish I could somehow learn directly from Evie how she came about deciding to create a game like this in what I assume is her 60/70's, after serving her time in prison, as it seems such a long shot when you try and make the jump mentally, lol. Huge respect to her for following through with this small project and giving us a taste of her life, and the horrors a womens prison facility can offer. I mean for free, I 10/10 recommend anyone just download the game and do the quick play through as its a fun experience for sure. Even for a couple bucks I'd recommend it, as …

In just a short amount of time, this game viscerally reveals to the player the horrors and humilations of the US prison system. Incredibly immersive with its impactful writing and well-done pixel art, it draws out a great deal of empathy for all victims and survivors of so-called carceral 'justice.' I eagerly await for the next installment.

It's a short experience that's emotionally hard to get through, but it does say something interesting.

Really powerful and moving. You can feel the humiliation at the strip search and it's very impactful. The art and sound design are also really well done!

Harrowing and gripping narrative of this nation's dehumanizing system of mass incarceration. I appreciated the visual style and soundtrack as well. Interested in seeing how the other chapters build upon this narrative!
