Prison of Lies

As the game says, its short, but omg i enjoyed it so much for what it was. I especially liked the half-truth minigame(?) but i do wish we had a bit more freedom with that and/ had it implemented more into the game. Otherwise, the game was great and the story got me immediately hooked, if not for just how the game looks (the visuals are cool, quite unique imo)

Fabulous and unique-- def would recommend

This game is short, but it's free, and it has a lot to offer. It raises a lot of questions about the meaning of innocence, especially withing a broken justice system. The music was fitting. The minigames are fun little puzzles to solve. I thought it was clever to have a visual representation of the half-truths, both so the readers don't get confused and also to demonstrate just how easy and common those half-truths are in our own lives. We all use them to get what we want, and this game doesn't shy away from addressing that. The mind games and logic puzzles reminded me a little of Death Note and the Zero Escape trilogy. My one complaint is that the ending doesn't wrap up the story at all, but if it's meant to be open-ended to raise more questions or set up a sequel, who am I to argue with that? If you like visual novels that deal with serious topics and moral dilemmas, this game is for you.

People like to say us humans are an open book if we have the right technology for it. In this case, a lie detector that moderates if someone is lying or not, but the thing is, for certain, it isn't always reliable if you are able to cheat your way out of the system by answering questions half-truthfully if the question is vague enough. For instance, "Are you a good person?" You yourself may not think of yourself as a good person, from, I dunno, closing the door right behind someone on purpose and who knows what else, and that haunted you to this day to think any better about yourself. But the question never asks you if you are a good person generally, just "Are you a good person?" so you self-consciously think about that one time you were a good person, for example, sharing your cookies with the neighbour when you were 4 or thinking about the time someone told you you are a good person. Answering the question with these in mind will more than likely have the lie detector not recognise any falsehood, all because the question wasn't more specific otherwise, leaving a lot of room for people to answer the question truthfully but not the same truth you want from them, which you may not …

this game is AMAZING i played it 4 times, 2 for the proper game play and 2 other times to see what executing each person dose as well as the text changes. i would highly recommend it especially with the amount of time you can replay it

Fantastic dialogue and short story that showcases the futility of judging the merits of a person based on their “innocence”. Stylish and sick characters designs too. While it’s not super long you get a good hint at everyone’s personalities and quirks by the end of the game to wish that you could follow these characters once they return to civilian life.
