Word Rescue

Word Rescue has the same issues that I had with Math Rescue. This game is far too old and clunky at this point to be worth paying money to buy. There are better free options for children now.

I first played this game when I was around 8 years old, living with my grandparents, on my grandpa's win 95 PC. I spent years trying to figure out its name and someone on reddit actually remembered based on my half-assed description. This bring back fond memories of my childhood and my first contact with English.

It's clunky and quite often you'll fall through platforms, but it's still one of the better edutainment games.

It is only nostalgic, but it is not good for today's standards.

The mean 'ol Gruzzles can't read. They don't want you to read either. Dang Gruzzles. I was 26 years old when I first played this. You jump on question marks which turn into a word, which you then run around the level looking for the picture of. There aren't many enemies running around so you don't have too hard of a time not dying. Unless you jump into the wrong picture, that spawns a Gruzzle. Once you collect all of them the worm stops by to suck them into a book and you head on to the next level. It's all pretty simple, but this is a cherished classic.
