you're just imagining it

Really good game, so good in fact I cannot bring myself to play it anymore. I relate to this so much with my meds (more emotional that actually chronic) and I just cannot stomach playing it more.

it took me four years to get diagnosed with my autoimmune disease. all it took to get a diagnosis was a simple blood test. four years of pain, and it was that simple all along. this game is heartbreakingly accurate to the chronic illness experience. i put off playing it for awhile because the frustration was too close to home. if you know someone with a chronic illness, please play this game.

short, but very real experience that unfortunately many people live through. the repetition aspect mimic the exact everyday life of people struggling like this. it's sad but it happens, I hope healthcare dismissal will become less and less until it stops altogether, no one deserves to live like that :(.

now if only i could get my doctors to play this game

I recently got diagnosed with fibromyalgia after 10 YEARS. About 4 years ago, I gave up on ever figuring out what was going on; I found a few things that helped (kinda) and did them. I mentioned my pain to GPs, but no one had an answer... until another chronically ill friend told me the name of the doctor who diagnosed them. After 2 (!!!) appointments, I got my diagnosis. After that, I got meds which work and a treatment plan to mitigate symptoms. This is a short little game about something we have all been through. Remember: no doctor knows what it's like to be in your body. You know what you feel; you are the expert on that.

as I type this I'm laying in bed in too much pain to even sit up, so I looked through my library for a game that would only need my mouse, and this was absolutely perfect. I was already planning to go to the doctor tomorrow, but this is all I'm going to think about while I'm there now. part of me wishes this game was longer so I don't have to find something else to play now, but I'm really happy for the protagonist that it's as short as it is. I can imagine people complaining about the game being repetitive or not having any way of changing the outcome, but this is exactly what my life feels like. I get up, I work, my body feels worse for it, which makes my brain feel worse, I feel too ♥♥♥♥ to do anything fun, and then I work again, maybe seeing a doctor when I have the energy to spare (thankfully I live in a country with public healthcare so I don't have to worry about the financial side of that), so a huge congratulations to the people who made this for managing to capture the exact feeling that living my life brings, but in a way that makes me think "oh ♥♥♥♥, other people are living this life too, I'm not alone" rather than just making me feel bad about it
