Lords of Ravage

I enjoyed my time, but it's just incomplete and also abandoned at this point.

Es un Roguelike entretenido pero muy corto. Uno de los mayores problemas es que no promete lo que indica la publicidad del juego. Da la impresión de que cada Lord of Ravage va ha ser un supervillano supremo, pero acaban siendo como mucho figuras trágicas. En la publicidad del juego dicen que hay rutas alternativas, pero eso es falso. Cada personaje solo tiene un final. Lo único bueno que puedo decir es que la banda sonora de los personajes cuando entran en batalla dan la impresión de ser un "jefe" de videojuego y el uso de las unidades es entretenido. Sin embargo, se publicita como un juego de aventuras donde exploras un reino, cosa que no es cierta.

I really wish steam allowed/had a meh option for if people should recommend games because I like the game but it is just a waste because the devs just have said absolutely nothing. I remember picking up this game because it was decently priced and I was hoping that it would be like other indie games; expanding over time or at least saying they would but this game I don't think ever got one, certainly not in the time I have owned it. I would say if it is on discount buy it. The gameplay is enjoyable enough although the balancing is not great. There are three characters and I have only played two but even with that you can see the issues. I do like the game as I said before, so I hope updates come soon.

Meh. Don't bother.

After about 10 hours, I beat the game for the first time on normal. This is a rogue-lite. You will get your arse kicked more in the beginning, and then as game goodies are unlocked and you understand the game mechanics, you will have a higher chance of winning. Some have argued that the accumulation of menace, which makes the enemies stronger is a deal breaker. But I can see how this may provide game balance. There are five difficulties: very easy, easy, normal, hard and very hard. Beat the game once, and you unlock a new leader. Beat the game with the new leader, and unlock the last leader. Game resources collected at various points (nodes), with the option to collect what you want range from gold to buy troops, build points to build structure at your base that provide buffs to your troops, spells(called Edicts), relics, decreases in menace, knowledge to level up troops, healing/training for the troops, and the leader, memories (which allow you to choose what spells, troops, etc. you want in the game before starting it) and maybe some I missed. Do not buy for full price. If you can get it for under 5 USD, then it's worth it. Overall, the game is fun but it has some holes that make it a discount game in my book. The Good: -Synergy between units feels good. Lots of little combos and set ups with units and edicts make the rogue like element fun. -Some people complain about the menace system but I think it's a pretty neat addition. As you fight, your units level but, but as your plunder the country side, your menace goes up, which basically level ups your enemy units. It creates a cool progress system. The Mid: -Graphics are cool 2d Sprites, but they are a bit jank and could certainly use some smoothing. -There are grammar and spelling mistakes. Nothing crazy but noticeable. -There are 3 different characters to play as and each one has a slightly different play style but not enough to make them feel very distinct. I almost put this in the Good section and I may be a little picky on this point. -Unit balance and Edict balance could use a little love. The Bad: -The story and writing is very flat and boring.
