Iratus: Lord of the Dead

Coming from Darkest Dungeon, this scratches the itch that Darkest Dungeon 2 doesn't. Good game.

Similar to Darkest Dungeon, offers an interesting premise and just that. No real story after that, just context for the said fights. The fights themselves are the meat of the game, the turn based strategy it's exactly what you're meant to do all the time. Gameplay itself feels pretty repetitive and some skills are so situational that you kinda never get to use them again after trying it the first time. Decent game if you enjoy mindless trial and error at grindier difficulties and roguelikes in general.

Got this during a sale event (it was 90% off), at the end of the day I'm not a fan despite it has things that I've had fun with.

Not even close to Darkest Dungeon but still a decent game. 6,5 out of 10

Not a bad game. The play-as-the-villain premise is fun and building an undead squad out of the corpses of your enemies is a good hook. It just never got its claws into me. Combat felt very repetitive — the same encounters against the same enemy types, without enough variation between runs to keep me interested. I put 40 hours in mostly on the strength of the concept and finished feeling pretty neutral about it. If you want a squad-based dungeon crawler in this style, there are more engaging options.
