Rusted Awakening

OH MY GOD. I've played every classical DOOM, most of the doomlikes from the era, same thing with modern boomershooters. And I think this one is simply the best one of them (except DOOM 2). It's like someone made original DOOM in XXI century, the idea is very much the same. The same soul is here. It's stresfull, dark, atmosphere is absolutely amazing, shooting, enemies, everything clicks. Gameplay-wise it works great, guns have power, enemies are scary and make awful sounds. Level design is peak (and it's really something, most of boomer-shooters have a "meh" design), and you never get lost because of really well thought routes.

The gunplay was great brutal, punchy, and actually satisfying. Level design worked really well with the gameplay too. It genuinely scared me at a few points and the tension stayed high throughout the whole game. I don’t mind not having checkpoints, but I do think having a save between sections would be a good idea, because some errors can happen like game or Windows crashes. I did run into a couple bugs: enemies getting stuck inside walls and shooting through them, some clipping through doors, and a few doors not opening at all. Nothing game‑breaking, but noticeable. Also I feel adding some flashlight effect to the game would increase the horror aspect of it. Overall, I really enjoyed this short game and hope we get more of this in the future. Well done.

unreal engine gem real short ,like 2 levers short honestly the main appeal is just how cool it looks, if you arent intrested in its style from the trailer the game doesnt really have much else to offer other than that. but still fun and better than most shoters if its size eltough 11 gb for 2 levels is a bit unreal

pretty fun! interesting map designs and aesthetic, though very light on content. i would have preferred a 2-ish hour long game similar to Butcher's Creek rather than one that took me 40 minutes on my first full playthrough. though definitely some criticisms to be made. the gunplay is pretty satisfying and reminiscent of doom 64 mixed with 3 (and a pinch of outlaws with that shotgun reloading), but the lack of a crosshair makes it hard to aim. though the game was fairly easy for me once i started poking my nose into places to find scraps of ammo and health. you can't use one gun for the whole time, but the weapon variety is pretty limited so you should get used to them. performance was okay. at 1440p i was averaging 100's which is great, but had areas that dipped to the 40's which is not so great. a major issue i do have is the lack of graphics options. i couldn't seem to find even a resolution, let alone performance settings. another note is that ultrawide support was a little iffy on the menu, as you can see the default Unity skybox in it as the black background doesnt stretch to different aspect ratios. not the most professional reviewer, but i certainly enjoyed my time with i…

A very enjoyable short horror FPS experience. The gunplay is surprisingly punchy and is complemented well by the audio design, which makes shooting feel extra satisfying, and gives the game a strong atmosphere reminiscent of Aubrey Hodges' work on the PS1 and N64 versions of Doom. I especially love the enemy sounds. They're imposing and a little cheesy - but in an eerie way. The level design is wild and sprawling without being confusing, with areas shifting and new paths opening sometimes without you realizing. It's good. It feels very cohesive. I did run into a few bugs and issues. The performance was inconsistent and could vary wildly depending on the area and direction I was looking. I also ran into a few walls and bits of geometry that didn't have collision, but nothing that impeded my progress. There's also a section with ceiling crushers that I found to be a little jarring, they don't have sound and I got stuck inside one, dying and losing a fair bit of progress.
