Great little RPG, very surpsrising that it hasn't spawned a speedrunning community with all the opportunities for minmaxing. Definitely a product of its time, but in a charming way. Highly recommended, especially for the price!

Bizarre space point n click RPG that gives vibes of an upgrades 00s Flash game. Love it to bits, is a joy for it's run time and well worth it if you are a fan of weird indie RPGs. Top notch Steam Deck fodder.

A handful of games out there are just bonkers mad. Straiumium immortaly, or Jazz Punk, or Psychonauts, or this. Dark Scavenger takes some of the improbable silliness of Superhero League of Hoboken but sets it into a different primitive dump in a remote corner of a backwater galaxy that civilization forgot and RimWorld wouldn't touch. Tribals, pro-wrestlers, gigantic Spider-Bees, rogue toasters that toast toes, slavers and drunks roam what's left of the world, though in defense of the vinos, water isn't safe to drink. Or swim in. Touching is probably ok, but use a stick or a rusty sword. Actually, i'm not sure Dark Scavenger is all that different. Less radioactive sheep, more xenomorph really into mime. That's about it. It teaches not to pet a tornado, which makes it a winner in my book. Gameplay is less about deck building and combat or squad management. There is no travelling on a map littered with random encounters. Instead, you move from location to location and select peculiar or threatening things to interact with, and probably poison yourself. Along the way, you will find or be rewarded with all manner of improbable items. Some are important quest items t…

Decent game. Doesn't take itself seriously and a little on the easy difficulty side.

Fantastic aesthetic, writing, simple and fun gameplay. Enough quirks and character to make it unique and worth seeking.

This is a one-of-a-kind roleplaying game. There are times when you have no choice but to fight, but the times when you can act to avoid fights or alter the battle before it starts are really amusing. There are times when you're rewarded for playing the game like a game and there are times when you're rewarded for taking matters seriously. I don't expect that this game warrants more than one playthrough, but it's a fun story with fun characters and elements that take advantage of and sometimes rewards individual curiosity. I wish beyond reasonable hope that another game with the kind of thoughtful design this exhibits will be made.
