The Last Good Boy

Cute little game with a loop a bit similar to Idleon. Dev is responsive and while a bit of the balancing around combat feel a bit overly grindy, the core loop is solid. Id love to see more acts added in the future.

I play this game for 10 h I think (I play the demo and also I pirated it and then the deleloper give me a key fir this game). and I am going to say that I like it. fun game to play while you are doing other things. the game is slow and very idle but that is the point of the game. highly recomend it if you like more long/indle incrementals.

Honestly an amazing game! Found a few small bugs that the developer was quick to respond to! I'm 15 hours in and having a blast at this point. True hidden gem by a developer that has worked hard on a game for years! Progression is fairly solid with some fun mini games for each of the activities. The theme of Ramon the Good Boy doing tasks to find his friends is cute and has just enough story for this kind of game to sell the atmosphere! At this price its a no brainer and you should get it right now!!!!

This is a really fun little game that reminded me a lot of Forager, but with a more linear progression. I really enjoyed unlocking new resources and slowly building up my gear, and while I wasn't a huge fan of the combat at first, the enchanting system really helped it grow on me. I also had some trouble with the second boss and reached out to the developer on Discord, who was super helpful and gave me some tips I wouldn't have figured out on my own. The minigames were a fun addition too, although the bug-catching one gave me some trouble! I 100%ed the game and had a great time doing it. My playtime is definitely inflated from AFKing and taking my time, but I think you get a lot of bang for your buck here. Definitely recommend it!

A really cute incremental game, with a satisfying gameplay loop, beautiful and cute artstyle, and a little story that's just enough for an idle game like this. The balance between being active or idle feels really rewarding, you can always just go afk for 10-60 minutes, then jump in, spend the things that you gathered, play a little bit, and set up another idle session for a now better item. If you are looking for a game like this, try out The Last Good Boy!

The Last Good Boy is unpolished and a little janky, but has a solid core gameplay loop and plenty to do over its mostly idle playtime. I'd describe it as Forager meets Melvor Idle. A significant amount of your time will be spent AFK, but there's also many decisions to be made in what to upgrade or prioritize next. It has a more linear progression system than Forager, but it doesn't have completely hands-off decision making like many incremental games recently have. The graphics are bright and beautiful with some great animations. The music is fine, not personally my style but well-done and not grating for long sessions. I also need to shout out the dev, who added WASD movement after receiving feedback about it. It (the movement) works well, but more than that I think it's a sign the dev cares about the player experience. This is not just AI slop someone made to capitalize on the incremental genre, it is very clearly a labour of love and passion. And it is ultimately a fun game if you're also yearning for more games like Forager.
