The Platformer has it charm but don't bother buying this game since the progress system is bugged!

Mari and Bayu - The Road Home is a gentle yet emotionally driven 2D platform-adventure that frames its journey through the tiny but perilous perspective of insects, using scale, companionship, and environmental interaction to tell a story about resilience and belonging. Mari and Bayu - The Road Home has an interesting concept but the overall execution leaves a lot to be desired. While the game has some charming visuals and a promising premise, the gameplay becomes repetitive rather quickly and there isn't enough variety to keep things interesting throughout the experience. The controls feel clunky and unresponsive at times, making movement and certain actions more frustrating than they should be. Some sections lack polish and the overall gameplay could have benefited from smoother mechanics and better controls. The pacing can also feel slow and the game struggles to maintain a consistent level of engagement. Although there are some good ideas here, they aren't developed well enough to make the experience particularly memorable. The game has potential but it feels like it needed more refinement and polish before release. The overall experience make it difficult to recommend.

I wanted to like this game. I like this type of duel character, two player, puzzle platformer adventure. But the two characters don't have enough different abilities. The firefly can only blow wind, at least early. This is needed, but sometimes needs too much precision for your usual "little brother" game. I certainly struggled with it a few times when I tried to play solo. I am a completionist but, now that I'm older, I'm getting better and not forcing myself through un-fun games. And this is one. The game looks great though. I really liked both the art style and quality. It is not quite up to Ori, but had that same whimsey.

I've bought this game especially for the 2 players, but 2 players game can't be started, there is no such option.
