Mina & Michi is a charming local co-op adventure with cute pixelated graphics and simple, accessible controls that work well for casual play with friends. However, players note design frustrations including repetitive music, unclear mechanics like one player being invincible (making challenge unbalanced), confusing level layouts, and poor puzzle reset systems that spawn enemies unnecessarily, alongside the complaint that opening chests often yields less money than their cost.
Intro
Using the of friendship, Mina and Michi, work together through season to defeat slime bosses.
Pro
- its for kids - easy 100% achievements - encouraging teamwork - simple controls - stages are easy to clear even for 1 person controlling two characters.
Con
- Its a 2p local co-op game. - Bosses are hard to play as a person, but still possible (I cleared it as 1 person) - The one controlling michi needs to do most of the work as Michi is can't get damaged.
Others
- During puzzle solving stages, if you make an error, there's no instant reset. You will need to leave the area, and return for it to be reset. Doing so, will also spawn enemies. - Overall, I enjoyed the game.

My Experience I picked this up recently on sale when a friend came over and we were looking for something to play in local co-op. We bounced off of it relatively quickly, for a couple of reasons: [olist] [*] It was somewhat easy to get lost - I would've appreciated the ability to find maps of the various areas. [*] We kept paying money to open these chests in the game. The chests only had money in them, and it was actually less money than we'd spent to open them. [*] My co-op partner was invincible, ruining any sense of challenge that the game had for us. Although I later found this mentioned in some user reviews, it would be a good idea for developer lightUP to mention it in the "About" section as well. [/olist] We did find the graphical style charming, but it wasn't enough to hold our interest, and I refunded the game shortly thereafter.

Mina & Michi is a top down 2D advanture game, where a girls and his pet monster going together to take out the gelatin monsters. I got this game from the developers, thank you guys! Graphics is indeed cute and looking good. I really like this retro, pixelate graphics but at the same time looks really like a new game. Characters looks good and the effects are really nice. Controlls is also pretty easy, however I was a madman and I tried to play this game alone, which was a bad idea... but it's workable. You can play the game on keyboard or controller too, pretty easy to play it! Sound and music is somewhat mixed. My problem is with the music, because in the 1.2 hours of gametime I have, I found 3 different track in the game, which can be repetitive over time, however I have to say the game's sound is good. Sound effects are not annoying at all. I would like to hear more tracks but this is still good. What about the gameplay? You go to place to place, taking out slimes and doing puzzle, collecting gems, avoiding traps and defeating ugly bosses. Also you spending your gems to unlock doors and losing them when you got defeated. This is all. Because of this, I could say the game is…
