Just another game I played recently with a game breaking bug and this is so disappointing because I was really enjoying this game. nice illustrations, pleasant atmosphere, cute story, well no need to go on because I was on chapter 6 which is nearing the end so playing for a while ( note my recorded time is only because I don't play it all at once but keep it active since I tend to come back to games sometimes later on and just keep it active). this is the bug .
While getting the cross for the monk, the game crashes when using lighter on the paper to reveal one of the rubies.
so I will have to put a NO to getting the game because I want others to avoid the disappointment of playing nearly all the game only to have it crash and also not be able to continue because within the game this bug prevents you from obtaining the needed item. disappointed!

a nice short HOG that is worth playing. pros. ok story cons. very short (a bit more than 2 hours) no bonus story it needs you to read carefully for some puzzles i have no idea why some people are facing "game breaking bugs" i have not seen any single bug in the game. either i was lucky or it was patched out. overall i barely recommend this game as it is very short. 5/10 get it on a bundle or under heavy discount.

Tearstone is a fantasy-themed hidden-object and point-and-click adventure built around exploration, inventory puzzles, item combinations, and a steady assortment of mini-games. Developed by Dragons Eye Studio and published by Impossible Mystery Games, it follows the conventions of classic casual adventures while introducing enough traditional puzzle mechanics to make it more involved than a simple hidden-object hunt. Its modest production values and aging presentation are immediately apparent, but beneath them is an adventure designed for players who enjoy patiently investigating scenes and working out how collected objects can be used to advance. The story begins with a mysterious letter from a Professor who claims to have made an important discovery. What initially appears to be a straightforward invitation soon develops into a journey involving strange locations, magical elements, unusual characters, valuable objects, and the mystery surrounding the Tearstone itself. The narrative mainly serves as motivation for moving between locations and solving puzzles rather than functioning as an elaborate story in its own right. There is enough mystery to maintain curiosity, although cha…

Sorry got to give this a downvote - crashed my laptop; actually what happened is that it hung and I was unable to change focus so I had to restart my laptop. I also attempted to put it on a better machine and use steam streaming; and of the many, many games (some steam and some not) I done this with it, it is the only game which was not compatible with steam streaming. As it is - a rather interesting, but primitive HOG/adventure combo - but I only completed the first chapter before giving up.

While I enjoy HoGs, even ones that feel really old, I was determined to play to the finish until I reached the halfway point. I don't know if there's a bug in this chapter, but I missed one object in a scene I couldn't seem to find and another never showed up and then I couldn't go back to get the object I needed. After that, I've had it freeze several times in the middle of game play and I've had it freeze upon trying to load the game. I hate to abandon games, but this isn't the first one I've encountered with such issues. I would not recommend this game at full price.
