✦ AI summary

Ruinscape is a peaceful exploration game set in atmospheric medieval ruins where players search for collectibles and read environmental storytelling about past romances. Players consistently praise its beautiful visuals, relaxing music, and meditative atmosphere, making it ideal for those seeking a calm, low-stress experience without combat or puzzles. The main frustration is the lack of a save function, forcing players to restart from the beginning each session, combined with some minor complaints about camera controls and occasionally obscure collectible locations.

Ruinscape is a short walking simulator game that has no save function. Once you exit the game, you go back to the beginning. At the end of the game, you have the option to go back to pick up any missing artefacts or notes. Most gamers complete Ruinscape in an hour. I took ages because I couldn't find one darn chest! Ruinscape is just you (an archeologist) navigating through the ruins of a castle. Notes strewn around give vignettes about romances taking place between the walls. They give an insight about the expectations and protocols of the times. Along the way, you find notes and chests hidden around the castle. The chests hold artefacts and jewellry which are the collectables you need to get. You also find keys which open any gates you encounter. Be sure to look in every nook and cranny as a few of the chests are very well hidden! There are also sconces that you can light, but they are optional and not connected to any achievements. This is a relaxing, peaceful and undemanding game and the graphics are well executed giving off the vibe of an ancient castle. There are no jumpscares, bosses or platforming to be done and no timed sequences. I played on KB and Mouse and e…

If you're looking for danger, puzzles, or jaw-dropping plot twists, this might not be your game. But if you’re in the mood for a peaceful, atmospheric stroll through a forgotten ruin, this game offers exactly that. The premise is as simple as it gets: you're an unnamed explorer investigating the remains of an old castle. A snapped rope sends you tumbling into a cell below, but don’t expect any tension to rise from that. Conveniently, the key to your freedom is in a chest right next to you. From there, your only goal is to climb the castle’s tower and escape using a second grappling hook. What follows is a slow-paced journey through mossy corridors and sunlit halls. With no threats or extra mechanics, the gameplay revolves entirely around exploration and light environmental interaction. The atmosphere is serene, with soft ambient music, birds chirping, and warm sunlight pouring through shattered ceilings and vine-covered opening. While the castle is clearly abandoned, it feels surprisingly preserved. Tables are still set, weapons remain in their racks, and a training area lies almost ready for use. Only the skeletons in the dungeon hint at a darker past, but even these don’t loo…

There's not much to say here. The guys put a metagame of different games at the head of the search, treasure and notes. I love such things, I happily walked around the beautiful ruins and looked for everything, with relaxing music.

Loved that game, how it looks and plays. Was a bit hard to get use to camera movement at start, and feels like ability to Sprint is missing. But overall, nice experience. If you like atmosferic puzzle games, definitely should try this one.
