About He Who Watches

He Who Watches is an atmospheric first-person puzzle game about spatial reasoning and shifts in perspective. Walk on walls and ceilings in first person, using every surface and every flash of inspiration to solve mind-bending environmental puzzles.Armed with your trusty bow, a single arrow, and your wits, you must delve deep into a labyrinth of intricate conundrums, seeking the god at the centre of it all. Your bow is not a weapon. It is a tool, used to manipulate your environment and open the doors that lead you ever further inward.Walk on walls. Walk on ceilings. Shift gravity as you slip between these planes, creating chain reactions to unlock the path forward. The labyrinth is fair, but it is also merciless. Expect no quarter.

A huge amount of delightfully simple yet fiendishly difficult puzzles. You will feel like a moron. You will feel like a genius. You will crush yourself with a giant stone block. Good times.

Great puzzle game. I had an amazing time hurting my brain with those gravity based puzzles. The difficulty is increasing satisfyingly, not too slow, not too fast. There's an in-game hint system. I wanted to go for 100% no hint but I ended up looking at them on the 2 levels separating me from completion, after 2 hours wondering about the correct setups. I feel like I sold my soul at the end, but I can definitely say I had a great time otherwise lol.

Heard this was "the new generation of Portal," and came in looking for story, atmosphere, and environment-based world-building. All of the above were minimal. The game feels almost like a first-person grid-based Sokoban game. Really cool if that's what you're looking for, which is why I'm still giving a positive review, but know it may not be for you.

Genuinely a fantastic puzzle game. Hard, but fair. The "main line" puzzles are challenging, but the hint system is the best there ever was - instead of telling you how to solve the puzzle, each level has an optional simplified sublevel that teaches you something about the actual level. It gets you to think about the puzzle in the right way, but still leaves you to figure out how to apply that to the puzzle. And if the regular levels aren't hard enough, each hub area has extra-difficult challenges that lead to bonus levels and hidden secrets. If you're at all a fan of putting blocks on buttons, this one is worth a look.

An exceptionally elegant first person puzzler , He Who Watches features difficult but not unfair challenges , some of which (secrets and extra chambers) are optional , but all rewarding to solve. Should you get stuck , the hint system provides lesser challenges to figure how the chamber's core trick works. The game exercizes the analytical mind and spatial reasoning in many novel ways , reminiscent of Portal 2. I hope the game gains a level editor , to truly become its best spiritual successor.

An absolutely amazing puzzle game with tight design, every mechanic feels exploited to its fullest potential. The hint system is also a great addition and is generally well tuned to give a new spark of ideas without fully giving away the solution.
