About Marty Thinks 4D

Marty Thinks 4D is an isometric 3D puzzle platformer. Jump into the role of Marty, a small robot on a journey to find his creator. With the aid of time travel, Marty is able to step through time and work together with past versions of himself to overcome any challenge. In the game, you are presented with challenges that require multiple people working together to succeed. Time travel will allow you to work with up to 5 of your past selves to overcome these challenges that a single player could never overcome alone. In this way, puzzles will be set up so you must play out partial solutions to a puzzle, then go back in time and play out remaining parts to unlock the solution.

Marty Thinks 4D focuses on small puzzle areas, similar to what you may find in games such as Swapper or Talos Principal, only the stages will be seen from an isometric top down angle. In each stage you will be challenged to work your way to the exit with increasingly complex stages. Multiple Marty robots must coordinate their efforts and overcome challenges such as defeating enemies, platforming, and activating objects. In the game you will be using a variety of special abilities, each with unique purposes.

The game will take place over 5 chapters, starting with Marty awakening inside his factory. His creator (Dr. Mobious) has long since passed, and Marty has been trapped in an isolated existence, continually performing final commands of his late master. Marty determines that, without his creator, his life lacks true purpose... So he sets off on an adventure to rebuild his creator and discover where he fits in the wide universe. In the story, Marty learns about the human condition and the true fate of Dr. Mobius.

Marty Thinks 4D features 50 stages, boss fights, power-ups, voice acting, a custom sound track and the ability to customize your Marty. You can also take on other players in our leader boards! Compare your fastest completion times for each stage against other players from around the world! MT4D fully supports gamepad controllers once the game is started but requires some mouse interface in the launcher menu.

It's rare to find an indie puzzle-platformer that is this well fleshed-out. There are a ton of levels, multiple game mechanics are introduced and then developed through puzzles, there are even boss fights! A lot of bang-for-your-buck. Plus, the character Marty is pretty adorable. :) I LOVE it!

Fun little puzzle/platformer that is actually quite challenging once you advance past the first area. Plenty of variations to the puzzles and a multitude of options to complete each level the way you see fit! Keep trying and good luck

Developed by Jonathan Stoffer and published by KittySoft Studios, Marty Thinks 4D is a puzzle-platforming adventure that builds its identity around a smart and imaginative time-travel mechanic. Rather than emphasizing fast reactions or action-heavy gameplay, it encourages players to think several steps ahead by using previous versions of the protagonist to overcome increasingly intricate obstacles. The result is a game that rewards careful planning, patience, and creative problem-solving while wrapping its mechanics inside a charming science-fiction narrative. It immediately stands apart from more conventional puzzle games by transforming time itself into the player's most valuable tool. The gameplay revolves around Marty, a small robot capable of cooperating with his own past selves to complete objectives that would otherwise be impossible alone. Every puzzle gradually introduces new environmental hazards, switches, enemies, moving platforms, and interactive devices that require players to carefully coordinate multiple timelines. Instead of simply rewinding mistakes, each previous attempt becomes an active participant in the next solution, creating satisfying chain reactions that…

I couldn't wrap my head around it because I'm slow, but it seems well made.

6/10 A puzzle where you use your double to press buttons. TLDR: A poor man's 3D puzzle where you use a double of yourself to press buttons and open doors. Somewhat like The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, Re Pete, Project Temporality but with more arcade elements like platform jumping and even some simple fighting. It has fairy interesting levels and a nice story. But its lackluster looks, uncomfortable controls (that can't be remapped) and annoying dexterity challenges drag it down. Good: - music is pretty good overall (exc boss fight level 1-10) - there is a pleasant story about the "Marty" robot which is narrated by an actor that I think I heard many times in other games. Since the narration doesn't need any clicking or reading, you just listen to it as you go - the dynamic shading under the bot is a nice touch when you pass between lights. The play of illuminated and darker areas in levels is interesting - puzzles are fairly varied and (where they aren't timing or dexterity-based) pretty fun to solve - dozens of levels So-so: - the 3D scenery looks pretty shabby overall though I'm not sure it could be done better by just 1 guy (the credits mention about a dozen people b…
