RePete is a pixel art puzzle platformer about time travel and self-cooperation. You play as Pete, a special guy that can loop back in time to help his past self solve problems, collect gems, and reach new heights. RePete features four worlds, each introducing new gameplay elements, with over 60 challenging levels to test your ability to work with yourself.

RePete is one of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam. This one is a simple puzzle platformer where you must collect 5 gems and then march on through the exit portal to get to the next level. There's a simple gimmick where you set up a "time loop" by creating a shadow of yourself which you can then use as a jumping block to reach higher places and so on, but there's not much else to this. The developer couldn't work out how to make the game work properly in widescreen, so you either get a 4:3 window or 4:3 stretched on a modern gaming PC. I guess this was developed on an old 1994 CRT they found in a dumpster. This will be a great game for all you guys back in 1994, before widescreen was invented. Otherwise... not so much. These kinds of flaws are really inexcusable in 2022. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. The levels range from mediocre to poorly thought out blind jumps and pure guesswork. Simply showing the outline of your other self would do wonders. Avoid this one...1 found this helpful
