Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Edition

It's not terrible, but it just doesn't get what made the first 2.5 games work. Mechanically, it's better, but the map sucks to traverse big-time, it's way too easy and the visuals are in dire need of some color. I've played this for like 4-5 hours and I'm not even sure if there's a time limit. Cutting or vastly loosening the time restrictions was just a bad choice for the series. It's one of the big points of differentiation from it and a million other sandbox type action games. It's not unsimilar to the how non-time limit Atelier games just don't do it for me, either. Both series benefited from keeping things focused and the time limits largely prevented the player from seeing how shallow aspects of the gameplay truly were once the restrictions were removed. There's also a bunch of "Hey, collect all these things" which I hate in games when they're shoved in your face. It wants me to collect statues, blow up speakers, find random bodies, etc. and it just puts me off. Just way too gamey in the worst way. FOV is also way too zoomed in and requires a mod to deal with as there are no in-game options to have the camera not zoomed right up your back. I might keep at it for …

Warning to everyone wanting to play DR3 on PC, DO NOT BUY!!! This Port is trash. The graphics bug out, its locked at 30fps, there are more bugs than you can imagine. The game itself is great and I recommend playing it just not on PC. One very well know and awful bug that I just exp is when you start one of the DLC missions it will completely wipe all of your story data and set you back to lvl 1. There are some ways around fixing it but nothing worked for me. 26 hours I spent on this game for nothing. Impossible to recover. So you can imagine I am ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pissed. ♥♥♥♥ this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC port. Go play it on Xbox.

Waste of time, the game is boring and stupid. My progress reset to zero because of a glitch. Save your money and time by not getting this game.

AMAZEBALLS

Dead Rising 3 is mediocre, it's nothing special. I don't really recommend that people play it especially since the first two games have more than enough content to last you a good while. I'd only say people have an actual investment into the DR franchise give it a try. I like the characters, they're fine. Nick starting out as a little ♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ then evolving into a badass is a cool trait of the game. Combo vehicles are cool, but honestly it's not something that is a big enough selling point to really wow me. A bunch of the combo weapons are kind of crazy and ridiculous in power where they can kill entire hordes of zombies in like one shot, which kind of ♥♥♥♥♥ with the balance of the game really badly. I had fun with it when I first played it but I doubt I'll ever be coming back to play it unlike the first two games.
