This sequels is also a strong okay. Some new gameplay elements felt half baked. The first half wasn't extremely pleasing for me and the second half had a great setting but poorly executed. Thankfully the option to bring your DIDE savefile and new skill tree options were added, and they felt great since I had all the skills from the last game to use and expand upon. There was as many bugs and jank as in DIDE so if you are fine with those then you might have great experience.
Game felt clunky, and the controls just didn't feel right.
Good game
Funny enough despite recommending the first Dead Island I cannot recommend this one, it feels less like a sequel and more like a stand alone DLC with a lot of reused assets and little in the way of new content, starting with the good, being able to import your Dead Island save and character is great, the climbing/ parkour elements are done better, still not great but better and guns are more frequent making a firearms build possible, and now the bad, the map design is often a complete chore to get through, the story is laughable and as of Dead Island 2 probably not even cannon, the new characters are awful to listen to, the difficulty of the game is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥, the hardest special infected are nothing compared to random zombie with a wooden plank being able to take 80-90% of my health as a maxed out Sam B, i say just skip it even if it just a dollar, there is a reason only 12% of players have the finish the game achievement.
People saying this has more bugs than the first are tripping because I have never played a game until the first that I could kill my coop partner just by running into them. Game runs a lot smoother than the first too where I'd average 50-60 fps (with a lot of stuttering) and this one is 150-160. Combat feels smooth, characters have more charm to them than being speechless, and the inclusion of unplayed ones defending the camps as others scout is charming. The first game we were just playing it just for the sake of finishing it. This one we did the same but WE ACTUALLY HAD FUN!!! CRAZY.
