About Dead Rising 2: Off the Record
Play as photojournalist Frank West as he tears through Fortune City's zombie-infested streets and the insane Uranus Zone theme park, snapping photos for prestige points while crafting absurdly creative combo weapons. This reimagining of Dead Rising 2 delivers new story missions, environments, enemies, and technical upgrades that capture the franchise's signature blend of survival horror and darkly comedic zombie-slaying mayhem.
The new "Off the Record" storyline means an all new Dead Rising 2 experience. Frank will face off against more twisted enemies, build more outrageous combo weapons, follow his own unique mission structure and explore brand new areas of Fortune City to get his biggest scoop yet. Join Frank as he indulges in the insanity of "Uranus Zone," Fortune City’s very own theme park. Full of deadly rides and crazy attractions, the sci-fi themed Uranus Zone is a true zombie-killing paradise.
Frank’s come-back means the return of his trusty camera, with players able to earn Prestige Points (PP) for specific photo opportunities that are graded against criteria such as horror, drama, erotica and brutality.
In addition to the new scenario and gameplay enhancements, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record offers a suite of technical updates including load time optimizations, improved network performance and a host of system upgrades to deliver a more satisfying Dead Rising experience.

I like the base game just a little bit more than this. I absolutely adore Frank West. I think he's a superior character to Chuck Green. But he feels shoehorned into Chuck's story here in a way that doesn't feel natural. Nothing that happens in this game is cannon, and somehow it feels like it's not cannon. Like it doesn't matter. And it reuses so many of the assets from the base game I struggle to see why this was a full priced, stand alone game and not a free mode in the original. The extra sandbox mode is the one thing this game has over the original. It lets you break away from the stressful schedule of the main game and allows you to actually explore. It even lets you carry all your money and experience points back and forth from the main game. But somehow this PC port has even more bugs than the original Dead Rising 2 PC port which already had a number of problems. I couldn't get passed case 6-4 without the game soft locking until I capped the framerate at 30fps. And I had a save file get corrupted one time after switching to sandbox mode and cloud saving my game from my pc to my Steam Deck. I have very little patience for these sorts of bugs, especially in games that have …1 found this helpful

Capcom, for the love of God, please fix this game. Would have recommended this game if it didn't crash all the time. The game is amazing; it's just that the pc port is terrible
