Alien Breed 2: Assault

The screen shake from the first game is finally gone, there is more money, I feel like? to get upgrades, heals and ammo. There was no difficulty spikes, I only needed to use a turret twice and never used the armor consumable on the highest difficulty. During a level, I feel like there was 2 paths, one led me to be overwhelmed because I was saving a turret and wasn't expecting an immediate wave of survival and died, the other path played like usual. Overall was on par with the first 1. I'm sorry for not putting more information as I just noticed I forgot to review it. :)

The game is not bad, quite short, but that's good because it gets repetitive quickly. The story is not bad. The explosions could have been smaller and the controls more stable. For me, the big minus is the upgrade system. Too small and too expensive. There are only three upgrades for the hero, for each weapon there are also three, but you can only use one and most always for more power. And nothing is saved if you start a free game. The prologue is a separate level from the campaign and is activated separately. Best with a discount. It just copies the review from the first game and there's not much difference anyway. Two weapon has been renewed and the bazooka is bad for playing in what is most often a narrow space. There are arenas but they are not anything special. Good story and the same gameplay without any improvements.

I liked it! It's old but it's good fun. Only buy on sale, it goes down to 0,99 euros some times.

the mission is not done yet! the 2nd entry is great and chill as the previous one. they added some new weapons to play with which is great! i like that they didn t deviate much from the same formula. perfect for casual players, even better on sale

In 2010 the name Alien Breed wouldn't have turned many heads or caused concern. Nowadays... I don't think you can get away naming anything "Breed"... This modern release of Alien Breed was a big milestone for Team 17 in my opinion, as this game series was one of their first ever developed on the Amiga/MS-DOS back in 1991. This successor is similar to their classic release, top down shooter with a heavier emphasis on story when compared to other T17 games and 2010's arcade releases alike. I can't prove that Alien Breed inspired VALVe's Alien Swarm... but it sure does feel like it... and for good reason. It's simply fun and afforadable
