Pathologic 2

Played the first Pathologic for a bit- didn't stick with it. I'll say this about P2- it's quite a different type of game than most people are used to. It's not violence-based, it's mostly about the story and your character trying to tackle a very large problem with a lot of different tools. If you like good stories, mysteries, can handle games that can be brutally hard- this is a pretty cool game. One note- if you are a perfectionist who needs to do every quest, find every item, save every NPC- this game will drive you nuts. I'm in my first run and i'm just trying to make it through to the end. I'm not reloading if someone dies- not reloading if something goes wrong- and I really think that's a good way to play this game. There is SO much going on and Time is a limited resource- it would drive someone nuts who was trying to get a perfect run where "Everything Goes Right". Certain people will love this game- others will absolutely hate it.

This honestly might be my favorite game ever. It's got a great mix of open-world, combat, dialogue, and medicine mechanics. It also deals with colonialism and human nature and crisis. On normal settings, it's really challenging (not quite souls but in that realm of things) and I've had to backtrack a few times to be able to move forward, because you can softlock pretty easily in this game. HOWEVER, that's because it's true to the premise and the atmosphere for the game to be challenging. Just a really unique game with a very cool vibe to it. 10/10!

90% walking simulator, 10% obtuse dialogue options. Not a fun time.
