About Outlast 2
You're an investigative cameraman trapped in a remote desert cult preparing for apocalypse, forced to hide and survive while uncovering the dark truth behind a pregnant woman's murder. Outlast 2 strips away your weapons entirely, leaving you with only your camera and wits as you document the psychological horrors of a isolated community descended into madness.
Outlast 2 introduces you to Sullivan Knoth and his followers, who left our wicked world behind to give birth to Temple Gate, a town, deep in the wilderness and hidden from civilization. Knoth and his flock are preparing for the tribulations of the end of times and you’re right in the thick of it.
You are Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with your wife, Lynn. The two of you are investigative journalists willing to take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch.
You're following a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe.
The investigation has lead you miles into the Arizona desert, to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.

Didn't connect with this game. I think I would have liked it more if it didn't have any monsters, and it was a more casual horror walking sim. There's this point where you have to interact with an object but there's a witch lady nearby who wants to kill you, so every time she sees you you have to run around to lose her. After the fifth time trying to interact with the object and being seen and running around, I said F this, this game isn't for me.

I believe it's the first time I'm leaving a negative review, and I think it's for a good reason. I remember playing Outlast quite a few years back and having fond memories of it, but this... ain't it. In short, everyone in the game is simply retarded, the main character keeps hallucinating all the time, the story doesn't make much sense, there's few good gameplay elements, and all of it is somewhat saved by some good horror elements here and there (especially for a game from 2017). So, you're starting the game as some wimp who'd get scared after seeing a rat, cannot sprint to save his life (ESPECIALLY when enemies are after him), cannot jump over basic items, always chooses to go towards enemies for some reason (rather than trying to avoid them)... And in all this time, he cannot equip a weapon to defend himself. In almost every area there are places to hide, but you'll almost never use them, for there's no need or you'll get randomly found anyway. And in the few instances where hiding makes sense, you have no idea whether you're still in danger or not. Some of it seems scripted that you cannot hide. I'd say my biggest problem with the game is that it's trying to merge 2 separa…
intense horror game but sometimes too disturbing but i like it
