Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge

I really enjoyed the first game in the Desperados series (Wanted Dead of Alive), but this game not so much. It was made during a time when everything was moving to 3D, and the game suffered from the transition. The charm of the isometric levels was lost and everything was harder to control. I didn't find the story or the gameplay as engaging as the first game. If you enjoyed the first game, I'd say skip this game and go straight to Desperados 3, where the game went back to its roots.

Stay far away from this game for now if you have an AMD centered build, non-stop stutters/graphical glitches while in Action View/third person and is what I encountered mostly now after moving from NVIDIA to AMD, and also not to mention that there is NO patch or fix that exists out there on the internet. The only ones that could fix this is the developers themselves and even that in itself is a far-fetched thought since the devs themselves on their own Discord have seemingly abandoned this game (I joined their Discord and looked around is all while troubleshooting) and even stated that the code is so old they would need someone that originally coded the game all the way back into the 2000s and that was back in 2020 that this was said, so you can see just how abandonware this game really is. So stay far, FAR away from this game and only pick it up if there's a massive sale on it going on (preferably a dollar for this game if you can stomach the amount of stuttering, even alone asking for $10 dollars knowing that certain users can't even play it properly is asking a lot). Played the prequel multiple times when i was a kid and always wanted to play the sequel, but couldn't cause it was massively bugged and never worked. Now i finally got to play it and its definitely not better than the first game. A 4/10 at most.

Probably one of the only people who kinda liked it. I dont know but with this much negativity my expectations were completely at the bottom which is probably why i ended up enjoying it a bit. Stiil kinda bad though half the game simply does not work, as you are more sneaky by running up to a guard by running than approaching him by crouching, and your lifebar is nonexistant as unlike oher desperados games where you atleast have a second to do something once a guard sees you here you get instakilled, the story is more underwhelming compared to the others, and the third person feature is just bugged because your FPS drop to 10 or something something that doesnt happen in helldorado which is basically desperados 2.5 and which fixes most of this game's issues. With all that said though i enjoyed it. Not the dramatic story of the third game or the infuriating keyboard breaking but enjoyable gameplay of the first game but still i kinda prefer playing this and helldorado over chicago 1930 and robin hood legend of sherwood and i didnt hate myself while playing it unlike something like ark survival evolved which was both more buggy and more boring than this. Runs well on Windows 11 and it's a decent game. I enjoyed the first one more but it's not that bad
