About Montero

General description:
Montero is a fantasy mystery with RPG elements. Every game session is a story of a random monster hunter, a dwarf belonging to a special class of fighters trained to deal with rare and dangerous enemies. Going on a quest (that usually takes you from half to one and a half hours), the player will have to protect dwarf settlers living in a randomly generated village from an unknown enemy.

History:
The principal feature of a developing kingdom is its growing territory. The new lands are wild, and many dangers await brave colonists who dare to settle there. The new settlements need to be protected, but it would be too costly to send troops to the borders every time a problem arises. This is why the kingdom needs Monteros, monster hunters who do not possess superpowers or artifacts, but rely on constant training, intellect, and knowledge of their enemies.

Gameplay:
Every Montero starts the game already as a skilled tracker, craftsman, fighter, and hunter. The character does not level up any skills during a game session. The success of the mission depends on the player’s choice of the gear and their knowledge of the world that will grow from game to game.
To defeat the final boss of the location, you will first have to find out who it is. In order to do that, your character will collect evidence (bits of fur and armor), talk to the locals, and even exhume bodies to examine the wounds. You will have to build barricades, set traps, make gear to prepare for the fight. This requires resources which you will find in the area or among the locals’ possessions. You will also have to help the settlers to recover from wounds, poisons, and illnesses. If there are no settlers left in the village, your mission is considered a failure. The final boss is not your only enemy. The newly settled territory is full of wild animals, robbers, poisonous mushrooms and insects. Monteros feel cold and hunger, suffer from poisoning, bleeding wounds, injuries and stress. The game will create a unique location for each session, so that every new mission is different from the previous ones. A successful mission adds objects to your collection of gear that will always be available for future missions. Succeeding, however, will not be easy, since you will have to adapt to the conditions, manage your resources wisely, learn to navigate the terrain, and be quick to employ your combat skills in a fight.
All in all, Montero is mostly about the advancement of the player, not the character.

(You need at least 2 hours to get used to it.) You play as a Montero, a monster hunter who is skilled at various tasks, from exploring, hunting/gathering, mining/crafting, to fighting monsters, of course. You start at your base camp and you take your chariot/wagon to the village/settlement that needs your help. There are three difficulties to choose from before each run. There are many different things to do in this game, but the ultimate goal for each run is to help the villagers by doing what they need. And then you embark on your journey in the surrounding environment that is randomly generated in order to take care of this problem for the village. Each run is done from beginning to end, from the time you start until the time you either complete the quest or die trying. Each run takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and that is depending on how you approach the situation. Speed is not your friend in this game, rushing will inevitab…

Long story, shrt story, this is wat we've got. + -This is the only one game in such setting. Trust me, i'll tryed to find. -This is a challange. Not for your fingers, like in Dark Souls, but for your mind and ability to work under time pressure. You must managed your resources and always be attentive. -Music like in Arcanum. True fans will appraise. Hella good ambient, folks! -This game is a simbul of what we all may do. Its made by a single man ( just immaginate amount of effort ! Graphics, animation, teksts!), who had learnd Unity from 0 and made his dream of being a game dev come true! This is the 2nd game already (check Rayless btw) - This is not another one money clikcer time waster, but a produck made with soul. - -Graphic. This is not an A+ class project, made by a single man, so you will not wait a picture like in a Witcher 3, right?) -Controlling. You will curce every thing you know, while moving through the forest, trust me, but after 3-4 runs you' ll get used and stop mention it. - Unguses! This little f@ckers!!!!

played for about 5 minutes if you have a few hours to sit and read all the books and figure out how to play then it may be worth a try but with limited gaming time not really worth it to me reminds me of vanilla runescape lite version

Game "Montero" intrigues you from the first minute. At first it seems that the game is quite impassable, but it did not annoy me, but only forced me to try harder. Over time, you understand how the game is arranged, how important preparation, collection of supplies and the choice of weapons are, and the game turns into a pleasure! Fight against the main boss is the end point of your mission, but to be there you need to be well prepared. Even in the Stronghold, you can choose a few items that you can take with you on a mission, and if at first the range of choice is small, then with each completed mission it will expand. In the village, you begin your investigation and arrangements. Five houses - five villagers, each of them can report something about the main monster. In houses, basements, gardens you will find a lot of items (useful and not). You have to provide your Montero with food, potions (fighting and healing) and weapons. After that, you will explore the territory; and the evidence (fur, altars, etc.) will tell you who you will have to defeat. And now you can go for the main boss, the only thing you will have to do is to find it. Don't forget to check your hunger and stress…
