About AI Roguelite
Explore an infinitely generated world where AI creates every location, enemy, item, and crafting recipe based on your actions and imagination. Combat, exploration, and crafting all play out through narrative plausibility checks—attack a robot with a raw salmon and watch the AI determine what actually happens.
- AI-generated entities: What weapons might you find in an underwater city? Which enemies might you find? Where else can you go from there? All these questions are answered by an LLM, so you can explore a truly infinite world.
- AI-generated crafting recipes: What item could you make if combining a wooden stick with a rock? What about a computer chip with a zombie brain? The AI decides which item should be produced, based on the names of the ingredients.
- AI-generated combat: What happens when you try to attack a "terminator robot" with a "raw salmon"? Instead of traditional item stats, the success/failure of an attack depends heavily on its name and description, the AI-determined plausibility of your proposed action, and a dice roll check on your attributes and skills. The AI then generates a plausible story for what happens when you use it against the enemy. Finally, the AI is fed its own story, from which it tries to figure out whether the enemy was killed, injured, or unharmed.
- AI-generated illustrations: Every entity gets an AI-generated image using either your GPU or the cloud.

Actions may be blocked or fail if checks aren't met; this is intentional and not caused by AI censorship. You can bypass these mechanics at any time via options or console commands.Notice: An optional monthly subscription is available via an in-game link, which enhances the gameplay experience by using more expensive LLMs and image generation services. This is entirely optional and does not impede the default free service in any way. The game works well out of the box with default settings and no additional cost to the player. AI Roguelite is a dungeon crawler roguelite where an AI dungeon master creates your adventure, offering surprising depth for players with imagination but struggling with directional consistency—the AI frequently defaults to endless tunnel or cave escape scenarios regardless of the setting players request. Performance varies dramatically depending on which AI model you pair with it, with Gemini working reasonably well while others produce nonsensical stat changes, broken combat mechanics, and long wait times, alongside image generation issues that need refinement.
The problem with this game is the AI wants to play a different game than me. I try to play a film noir urban game, the AI wants to play "escape from this endless tunnel". I want to play sword & sandals, the AI wants to play "Escape from this endless cave". I want to play an abandoned city scavenger, the AI wants to play "escape this endless service hallway". Picking up on a theme, here? If you decide to try this game, just set your game underground or somewhere similar. Why fight it?8 found this helpful
The game's own free AI works surprisingly well, however do be prepared for long waits and cursed images. So far I've tested deepseek v4 flash, deepseek v4 pro, gemini, qwen and mistral however they all did poorly except gemini. mistral-small-24b-instruct-2501: super cheap but completely breaks down and doesn't work at all. deepseek v4 flash 04 and 07: both came close to working, they can generate text, locations and images but they'll make you take dmg for no reason, do things that make no sense, randomly change stats, don't know when to roll or not roll dice, failed to initiate combat or reward exp, many issues Idk thats all I remember. Qwen 2.5 72b instruct: I honestly do not remember my experience but I think I'd if it was a good experience. gemini: did very well in world building department but I haven't tested it much in game because this game makes many rapid requests to the model and it can make you quickly run out of requests or hit request per min limits. built me the old world from warhammer fantasy, including capitals and major cities and locations, without even needing any explaining other than something like "give me the old world from warhammer fantasy, humans in …3 found this helpful

Wow. This is surprisingly great, if you have a good imagination. It's basically like DnD but the dungeon master is your PC and they make the campaign based on whatever you like.2 found this helpful
Love it. There are plenty of bugs to work out, especially with the image generation. I paid for the sapphire upgrade, so keep that in mind. It is a process, but I look forward to see what more they do with it.1 found this helpful
