Boundless AI Fantasy

A front-end for LLM-driven roleplaying. There's a lot of customization you can do in terms of lore, setting tone, as well as characters for the LLM to roleplay. The game also comes with plenty of pre-generated characters, locations, abilities, as well as several campaign types so you can just jump in and play without modifying anything. For someone who is a novice to LLM-driven roleplay, this works pretty well. The combat is simple but serviceable - there's just a few stats that scale with experience level (attack, health, armor). The purpose of the game isn't the combat itself - that was added to help flesh out the roleplay, which is the main draw and where you will spend the majority of your time (playing organically, anyway - if you just want to murderhobo then of course you can spend plenty of time in combat!) Unfortunately, for folks more experienced with LLM-driven narrative and roleplay, there is no direct LLM tuning via the game itself (temperature, top k, repetition penalty, etc.; parameters which significantly affect an LLM's output) which means you are at the mercy of your model choice. If you are reading this, you are probably in the 10% of the worlds population that doesn't hate AI like me. There is also a chance you are here for the "Full open ended limitless D&D" that was only possible with a human Dungeon Master. Well, this game is kinda that, its a poor mans large model AI that runs like frozen syrup and breaks really easily. So this was more of a gateway game for me that showed me what is possible with open ended AI gaming. None of these games are on Steam, and all cost a substantial monthly fee, but if you want limitless worlds of depthless interaction its out there waiting for you. I've seen the future of gaming, and it will be glorious for those of us willing to give ourselves over to the AI dopamine prison.

This game is good if you are new to AI and want an introductory experience. For experienced users there isn't much customization you can do. For people who are expecting the AI to push the story forward, you need to know that the smaller models (like this game's free models) are very limited and pretty much just repeat back to you what you tell it. If you say there is a mysterious crystal, the game will agree that it is a mysterious crystal and never push the story forward. You need to be self-motivated to push the story forward and the AI will for the most part generate assets and scenes that go along with whatever fever dream you cook up. If used well this is a fun game. If you don't understand how it works, you might find it frustrating.

Seems great for some really light stuff. I was hoping to import sections of my campaign setting into it, but even trying to describe one city in the World Map editor crashes it because it can't handle the length of text. With some refinement this is promising. For the price it's good. I hope in the future it can handle stitching thousands of pages of lore together for different cities, nations, peoples, and more. For now though it's just a hint at the only aspect of generative AI that I am truly excited for- experiencing the kinds of stories I want catered to me.

Easy customizable in every franchise you want. Feed it with enough lore and go.
